Iman Ridzuan

Ola beauties! Who doesn't love pampering themselves in the weekend right? I'd rather do facials at home rather than going to skin spa for facial treatment. This is because I have been to a few of them and I always ended up having breakouts afterwards. So as for now, I can only trust myself for my face hahaha, which explains my mask collection at home. Maybe I should do a post about my mask collection soon?

Anyway, Freeman is very famous for their facial masks that are so good and affordable. I have tried the Mint & Lemon Clay mask, and Cucumber Peel Off mask from their regular line. Loveee the first one, not so much for the latter. But, this is my first one to try from their new Beauty Infusion line, the Manuka Honey and Collagen Hydrating Cream Mask

There are 2 other masks and 1 overnight mask from this line.

credit picture from packagingoftheworld

Packaging wise, I really love it! It looks very exclusive compared to colorful ones from their original collection. However, the content is a lot little for 118ml compared to 150ml from the original version, and it is selling for RM47 in drugstores. A little expensive I would say, so I expect this mask to be amazing. This mask is serum infused and dermatologist tested. What's good about Freeman is that they don't test it on animals, so big yay!

This mask claims to :

-Instantly boosts moisture
- Restores smoothness
-Improves elasticity

The mask comes out in thick white cream, almost like hair conditioner. It smells like hair conditioner too lol. Despite having manuka honey as one of the main ingredients, it doesn't feel too sticky. It just sits well on the face. I usually apply quite a thick layer and let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it off.

When I first apply it on my skin, it gives me a tingling sensation. I don't know if that is good or bad, but the tingling will be gone after a few minutes. So as long as I didn't get any irritation from this mask, I'm good lol. But if you have a very sensitive skin you might wanna take this as a concern, because there are mix reviews online about this mask that says it burns for their skin.

Visually, it doesn't give me any extravagant changes. It's not those typical mask that brightens your skin temporarily for that wow effect after you rinse it off. But my skin definitely feels a lot smoother and softer to the touch. It feels adequately moisturize and comfortable afterwards, like I do not need to add on any more moisturizer, but I do so anyway. My skin just feels hydrated and moisturized, that's all I can say about it. I am not sure about elasticity improvement, because I do not notice any plumping effect or any other improvements.

I even tried applying this every single night for a week but my skin still gets dry during mid day. If you're wondering, yes I am someone who drinks a lot too.  I do however, notice that my pores are tighter and appear smaller, but the effect is temporary.

Do I recommend this thing? If you have very dry skin and are looking for a good mask that really focuses on moisturizing, sure! Why not. But other than that, I know a lot more other masks that moisturizes and yet gives a lot of other beneficial stuff at the same time for cheaper. My all time favorite moisturizing mask is definitely Rice Wash Off Mask from Skinfood, so you might want to check that out if you think this is a bit too expensive for a drugstore mask. Overall, this is a very good hydrating mask, but it's just can't replace my all time favourite hehe.

Pros :
  • Very hydrating
  • Tighten pores
  • Skin feels soft and smooth afterwards
Cons :
  • I'm not a fan of the scent and how it feels like hair conditioner
  • A little pricey
  • Effects are temporary

When it comes to doing my makeup, lipstick is the part where I am always the most excited about. I personally think that I look and feel the best with a little bit of color on my lips. But to find one that stays all day, is very though.

This product claims to last for 16 hours on the lips. That is a huge claim for lip products considering we gotta eat and drink and some of yall maybe smooch throughout 16 hours in a day of your life. As for me anyway, my mind is already trained to reapply my lipstick throughout the day so I gotta bring a lipstick with me for touch ups whenever I go out.

Let's talk packaging. I personally think that packaging is sleek and I love love love the fact that the tube resembles the color that you're getting. It is very helpful when you're someone that owns another 100 nude lipsticks (I am exaggerating but you get the point lol). And the white top just add a touch of class to it. Some of you may think it is pretty bulky for travelling, but I don't mind it.

It has a reservoir tip which is uncommon in other lipstick products and I actually adore it so much. The pointed tip makes application soooo easy and fast. Do you see that divot in the middle? From what I have read, it is so that the applicator collects more product onto it. Genius! I am usually not a fan of scents in my products, but this one has a sweet vanilla scent that I can look pass it. I am not sure if it is the same scent for other colors though.

Freshly swatched

After set, it turns a little darker exactly like the color on the tube packaging.

The shade that I got is 75 Firefighter, which looks like a burnt orange. I should have got other colors if you look at my lipstick collection but what can I do, I love orange lipsticks so much hahaha. Within one swipe, this covers my lips perfectly. I have other matte liquid lipsticks that are streaky and needs multiple coats for the opaqueness that this one from Maybelline gives in one swipe.

Like any other matte lipsticks, this one does settles into my lip lines as well. It's a no surprise for me though, matte lipsticks often tend to suck up the moisture on my lips. But on another note, does it lasts long on the lips? I'd say heck yes!

The first time I tried this, I went on a Kfry date with my boyfriend. Oh you know Kfy, those juicy chicken drumsticks covered in layers of cheesy goodness. So I went to the ladies afterwards because I didn't bring my small mirror for touch up, and to my surprise, I didn't need to! It stays put and didnt budge at all, damn I was so surprised. Surprised of how good my lips still looks like after gobbling on that meal. I did a kissproof test on the back of my hand and guess what? Absolutely nothing transfers! But, you gotta allow at least 2 minutes for it to set on your lips first.

On another day, I wore this lipstick and went lunch with my girlfriends and I ordered Carbonara. Now this one made my lipstick fade. However, my friend was wearing it too and she had a good amount of pizzas but her lipstick stays put. Therefore I can say that with this lipstick, it won't last very well on...omg what is "berkuah" in english? Haha! To my malay readers, you get the point. If you don't understand malay, I'd say just avoid creamy things like pastas with this lipstick or those Asian soupy meals. Other than that, you're good to go.

My friend Ayu (Front) after having pizzas, absolutely no reapplication needed!

Overall, this is by far the best matte liquid lipstick that I own and I am already planning to get more colors. The longevity is no joke for a drugstore product, damn Maybelline you've done great! I am so impressed. For RM35, this worth every single penny spent. I give this a 5/5, go grab yours now!

Pros :

  • Lasts long
  • Doesn't need to touch up after certain meals
  • Affordable
  • Very opaque
  • Easy application
  • Color on the packaging is exactly what you're getting inside
Cons :
  • A little drying. Just a little!

Innisfree is one of my favorite korean beauty brands. I've tried their skincare, makeup, nail polish, you name it. I love all of em.

I don't usually have acnes now unless I am under intense stress, but my main skin concern has always been about clogged pores. I have stopped using my clarisonic to cleanse my skin for awhile just to test this cleansing line credibility on its own. I have used the entire tube of this cleanser so I can definitely give you guys my verdict confidently.

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam

Let's start with the cleansing foam. I'm just gonna say it, I love it. I used to prefer gel cleanser a lot more to cleanse my skin but this cleanser have converted me to love using foaming cleansers again. It leathers up a lot and I just loveeee how clean yet moisturized my skin feels afterwards. It doesn't make my skin feel squeaky clean like a lot of other generic foaming cleansers does.

This cleansing foam also contain little beads called volcanic scoria that helps to exfoliate your skin a little bit in the beginning. But it dissolves after a while of massaging it and Innisfree claims that the volcanic scoria helps to absorb excess sebum purifies clogged pores. So don't worry, they are not those typical artificial micro beads that can pollute the aquatic environment. After rinsing, my skin will appear brighter and my pores look cleaner as well. Now that I am out of this cleanser, I will definitely go and repurchase.

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Scrub Foam

Now to the pore scrub foam. Judging from the tube itself, you may think that I rarely use this thing, right? Well, you are absolutely right! Lol. I ordered this from my friend when she was in Korea because I loved the cleanser so much, I thought I might enjoy the scrub more. Without doing a research before hand, I just ordered it confidently and was so excited to use it, until I actually use it and was shocked to know that it actually foams up hahaha! Yeah, that's the only reason why I don't really use this.

I am confused whether I should use the cleanser before I use this scrub because both of them foams up and I feel like I will be over cleansing my skin whenever I do that. And I really don't want to skip using the cleanser because I enjoy that one so much and how it cleanse my skin. Ignoring the foaming part of this scrub, the scrub is actually very satisfying to use and my skin feels soft and smooth afterwards. I wouldn't repurchase this, just because I don't think it is necessary for my scrub to foam up.

So, does it work to treat clogged pores? I would say yes, but not perfectly. It did help to minimize, but I still do have some clogged pores situations so I guess I will go back to my Clarisonic regime. All and all, 5 stars for the cleanser, and 2.8 for the scrub!

Sorry there is no tricks. I am actually one of the winners for Lazada's Blogger contest yayy! So I finally spent my RM300 voucher and bought a lot of stuff.

Sorry mum and sis sebab asyik kena hadap postman depan pintu while I was in Sarawak lol!

I did think of buying just one thing that already cost RM300 like a pretty luggage or a hard drive, but I thought that as someone who owns a beauty blog, I should try more beauty products for you guys. I may not win all of this if it's not because of you guys who supports me to keep writing! So yeah, do expect more beauty reviews soon hahahaha. Let's start the haul!

Skincare

I'll start with skincare since this is where I "spent" the most on. I love makeup but I love my skin more so this is a great opportunity to venture on more skincare brands that I haven't yet tried.

Origins Clear Pore, Hydrate & Glow Mask Set
RM99 (Origins)

The most expensive trio on the cart is this Origins' Clear Pore, Hydrate and Glow mask set which only cost RM99 and that is pretty inexpensive actually. Considering the original price for each is RM120 for full size. I've been wanting to try out the pink rose clay since forever, so that's why I got this set. But I heard so many good reviews for the other two as well. I've only tried the black one once and I am already loving it. I bought this from Origins' official store in Lazada.

BIORE Cleansing Strips Pore Pack Black 10's
RM13.30 (Watsons)
BIORE Refresh Makeup Remover Wipes Travel Packl 10's
RM5.80 (Watsons)

Got these two from Watsons! If you read my post here, you'll know that these two are my favorites from the drugstore. It's just that I've never tried the blue version of that makeup wipes and curious to see how it is different with the pink one.

FREEMAN Manuka Honey Hydrating Cream Mask
RM47 (Watsons)

I have tried a couple of masks from Freeman, but I've never tried one from their new line, the Beauty Infusion. My skin has been on the drier side lately so I am so excited to try this hydrating manuka honey mask. Manuka Honey is great for the skin but the raw manuka honey is hella expensive. It's good to see it as the main ingredient for a skincare product.

NARUKO Raw Job's Tears Mask
NARUKO Raw Job's Tears Mask
PUREDERM Avocado Collagen Mask
PUREDERM Purederm Botanical Choice Pearl Mask
RM5-6 each (Watsons)

And to compensate for free shipping, I decided to get some sheet masks! You can never go wrong with these. Honestly I've never tried these ones that I picked up because I usually buy my sheet masks from Sasa.

Makeup

RIMMEL The Only 1 Matte #700 Trend
RM 19 (Watsons)
Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Un-Nude Lipstick
RM34 (Maybelline)

I bought two nude lipsticks and I hate myself for that because my entire lipstick collection is almost all nudes. But no no no, no regrets hahaha! Upon swatching, I am a little bit skeptical about the Rimmel (bottom swatch) because it is kinda a little pale for me. But we'll see! For the Maybelline one though, I am absolutely satisfied and have no complain about it so far.

SILKY GIRL Hi-Definition Brow Liner 02 Dark Brown
RM21 (Watsons)

Silkygirl is hands down my favorite when it comes to drugsotore eyebrow pencil. This Hi-Definition brow pencil is a must try if you haven't! I got one in Dark Brown.

Miscellaneous

IPAKY Frosted PC Anti-skid Mobile Phone Shell
Lovely 3D Moustache Cat Soft Silicone Back
Raindrop Shaped Cellphone Finger Grip
RM5-10 each (TVCC)

I also love to switch my phone cases so often. I couldn't skip these two when I was browsing so I decided to get them. The pink one is super cute! My phone is already wearing the red one and I am so in love with the quality. Unfortunately as I am writing this, the seller doesn't sell the red one anymore on his shop. But I guess you can just search for the brand and keywords to find one from other stores. Oh and that raindrop shaped thing is the thing that you put at the back of your phone so you'll grip on it better. I love pop sockets for my phone, but this one is too cute to pass on.

16GB mp3 player
RM30 (Freebang)

Lastly, I got a cheap mp3. HAHAHA. Please pray for me because I am so determined to jog every evening, but I just can't bring my iphone 7 plus for music because it is too enormous. So I decided to get a cheap music player. This only cost RM30 and I even get a free earphone!

And those are it! Those are everything that I got and I am happy for each and everything. Thank you Lazada, everything came  securely packaged and nothing came broken. Bear in mind that some of the items I got were on sale. I also made sure to follow the minimum purchase in each store to be eligible for free shipping. All and all, I got everything for RM300.03 with free shipping. For having the voucher, I only paid 3 cents. Yay! I also made sure to purchase from Lazzmall (official brand stores) for my makeup and skincare products, because there is no doubt for authenticity if you purchase from the LazMall category.

Till next time, bye bye.

I rarely do eatery review, but when I do, it is because I love the place a lot that I feel like I have to share it with you guys. I love you guys okay, if I eat good foods you guys gotta have em too. This time it is for Pinggan Puteh, a restaurant in Shah Alam that serves local dishes.

I knew about this restaurant from a blog post about pink themed cafes in Malaysia. I can tell you that there's not much here in KL/Selangor area. So this is a good place if you're looking for a pink eatery.

The interior gives a clean and homey vibes. I especially love the mirror decorations on the wall. It gives out a modern look. I went there pass lunch hour so there were not a lot of customers.

Pricing for the foods are average for fancy cafes like this in my opinion. Even though they prepare local dishes, I don't necessarily think that they are overpriced, due to the quality of the foods. And the taste. They are so so good! If you're not into local foods, they do have western options (see Pinggan Barat section in the menu)

Pinggan Utama : Lemak Daging & Sayur Asin (RM12)

Sago Gula Melaka (RM5)

Virgin Mojito and Kasturi & Asam Boi (RM6 each)

It was an unplanned trip. I went there with my boyfriend to accompany him getting his late lunch. I already had mine prior, so we didn't order much. But, we are very satisfied with our orders nonetheless. I loveeeee love the drink that I order a lot! I love both of them but I love mine slightly more, the Kasturi & Asam Boi drink. It is very refreshing. If you're from Sabah and you know about Kitchai juice, this is exactly the same drink. I used to order Kitchai a lot when i was in Sabah, so this brings back memories.

I would come back for that drink alone <3

Now here where it gets pink! This area is a must for instagrammers to take a photo. It's pink and pretty. You can just search for the keyword "Pinggan Puteh" on instagram and I'm sure this area will pop up a lot in people's photos haha.

Another area for good photos (outdoor)

Overall, I would highly recommend this place. The foods are so good. That lemak cili api we ordered? It has just the right amount of spiciness and lemakness, as if that is even a word lol. My boyfriend enjoyed it a lot and he said he want to come back here next time too.

You know how I usually go for gel or balmy moisturizers for the longest time ever? If you have been following my blog, you might notice that I often tend to avoid cream moisturizers as I have oily skin. The last time I did, I broke out terribly. It was a drugstore moisturizer haha. My holy grail moisturizer was the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. However, I have noticed difference in my skin type as it gets drier and drier since a few months ago.

No gel or balmy moisturizers seem to be working for my skin at one point it just seems drier, oilier and duller. I looked into my beauty samples drawer and found a deluxe sample size of the First Aid Beauty Repair Cream so I thought, let's give it a try.

Thank you Sephora for this deluxe sample size! It lasted me for about a month

I was hesitant at first, because this is the first cream moisturizer I am trying after the longest time ever. I didn't expect anything other than it would probably give me bumps and acne. If that happens, i will just use it as a hand moisturizer. And oh boy, I was wrong.

THIS IS THE BEST MOISTURIZER EVER!

I was not expecting much because even though it gets pretty good reviews online, it also gains quite a good amount of negative reviews. It is a quite popular though. I guess this is the kind of product where you either hate it or love it. I'm glad I'm in the latter category.

First, let's talk packaging. The moisturizer have different types of packaging for different sizes. The one that I am using comes in tube packaging for 56.7g (RM54). The other two are 170g which comes in tub packaging (RM135) and 226g (RM178) in tube. I don't understand why the 170g needs to be in tub unlike the other twos. It is the sole reason why I didn't pick it up as tubs can be very unhygienic in the long run. I am guessing they just provide options for the customers' own preferences.

Ingredients : water/aqua/eau, stearic acid, glycerin, c12-15 alkyl benzoate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, glyceryl stearate se, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl alcohol, butyrospermum parkii butter, dimethicone, squalane, allantoin, camellia sinensis leaf extract, caprylyl glycol, ceramide 3, chrysanthemum parthenium extract, colloidal oatmeal, disodium edta, eucalyptus globulus leaf oil, glycyrrhiza glabra root

It doesn't have crazy long list of ingrediets, but it does contain a lot that I don't understand or never heard of lol. Therefore I just did some research online and found the ingredients to be completely safe for the skin

Ingredient analysis by https://www.skincarisma.com

"Banish dry skin with First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream. Suitable for all skin types, especially dry, flakey skin, this hydration wonder leaves skin feeling smooth, hydrated and comfortable after just a single use." - First Aid Beauty website

It does claim to be suitable for all skin type so seeing this analysis is a relief to know that they really stand up to their claims. Even though it is a cream type moisturizer, it is actually water based. It is not marketed as a face moisturizer, but just moisturizer in general so people with eczema or any other dry skin conditions can use this product for that matter.

I was afraid the first time I used this product because I can just tell that it contains silicon by the texture. And to no surprise, it is indeed not silicon free. My skin can get clogged up very easily so I tend to avoid products with silicon in them. Fortunately, this moisturizer doesn't clog my pores at all and instead, it helps to heal textures from my skin. Talk about amazing!

I do not have very bad textures to begin with, but just like I said that my skin gets clogged up very easily, so I do have some bumps here and there and therefore I rely on my blackhead extractor a lot. Ever since I started using this moisturizer, not only my skin become smoother, I rarely ever get acnes too! Less acne means less scars, and less scars means less texture! It's not named "repair cream" for nothing I guess. On Sephora website, it is described to be exfoliating so I guess that is one of the reasons how my skin got cleared up from bumps.

Do you notice how smoother and more moisturized my hand looks in picture 3 versus in picture 1?

The cream itself is pretty thick, kinda like a whipped cream texture. But it absorbs very fast into the skin no matter how much I apply. It doesn't leave me with an oily look, but rather a bit of a glow. And it definitely works well to give ample hydration for my skin. Sometimes, even with gel moisturizers, my skin will be oily at the end of the day so I would need an oil blotter. But not with this one! My skin feels and look great throughout the day, with or without makeup. Yes, even in this crazy hot weather of Malaysia!

This is not the moisturizer if you're looking one for brightening, or something that targets acne. They do have other products available for those concerns.

This has definitely become my number one moisturizer now, beating all other moisturizers that I have used before. You probably won't see me reviewing any new moisturizers for awhile because I have finally found the one lol! I use this product as both daily and nightly moisturizer. Overall, 5/5 and would totally repurchase over and over again!
