Iman Ridzuan

Hello beautiful! I'm sure everyone already heard and know about the Naked Pallete by Urban Decay that has been so famous ever since they are released in the market. Due to the rave, a lot of companies has been releasing their own eyeshadow palletes that comes with neutral colors which could be a dupe for the Naked Pallete.
Today, I'm going to talk about an ultimate dupe for the Naked 1 Pallete, which is the Makeup Revolution London Iconic 1 Pallete. It costs so much less than the Naked Pallete. If you haven't heard of this brand before, it actually just launched in London in March 2014, so it's quite a recent brand hence you can only purchase their makeup from their website for the time being. The Iconic 1 pallete costs only RM32! That is an amazing price compared to the Naked 1 which cost more than RM100.
I do not own any Naked Pallete, so this is going to be a full review of the Iconic 1 pallete and not a comparison post.

Let's be honest here, it is not one of the most luxurious looking product as the packaging is made from plastic, but for the price that you paid, the quality of the eyeshadows is totally worth it! The pallete comes with 12 neutral colors, with two of them being matte and shimmery for the other 10 colors. The colors do not have any names in particular, but the arrangement of shades is exactly like how the shades in the Naked 1 pallete is arranged. You can google up Naked 1 for reference. The pallete comes with a double sided sponge tip applicator, which is great for a beginner.

Here are one swipe swatches of the shadows on my hand. I'm sorry for the picture quality, but trust me it looks a lot better in person. As you can see, the shimmery shadows stands out more than the matte ones, but there is actually none of the colors from this pallete that I dislike! Every single one of them has a rich texture and are very pigmented. They are really easy to blend too. Sometimes I use the matte shadows to fill in my brows and it works perfectly.

The first color from the left is used usually to highlight my inner corners and my brow bone. The shimmery shadows are perfect for daily wear as they are not too glittery or have any fallout throughout the day. It's the perfect pallette for everyday makeup or events!

If you haven't check out the makeup products from this brand yet, you really should! They even have a lipstick range that costs only RM8 each. How cool is that? After my first purchase, I know I'll definitely come back to the website next time to purchase more of their products.

http://www.makeuprevolution.my/

Pros:
  • Very affordable
  • Amazing quality
  • Pigmented
  • Easy to blend
  • No fallout
Cons :
  • Can't think of any!
Rate : 5/5

Will I repurchase?
Yes yes yes

If you don't know yet, it is my final year of studying here in Bintulu, Sarawak. And for that matter, there will be a lot of dinner events that I will have to attend as to celebrate our pre-graduation and at the same time, final exam is just around the corner so my skin has been stressing out. So for the last few weeks I have been looking for a good foundation that will provide a good coverage and will last for a long time. Did some research and I found that the Revlon Colorstay Foundation had win so many girls' hearts that it even become their holy grail drugstore foundation, therefore decided to pick it up and give it a shot.

I got one in the shade 310 Warm Golden. I think it is a perfect match for me since my skin has gotten a little tan these days. This foundation claims to wears up to 24 hours. I have no idea if that is true since I never wear any foundation for 24 hours. But in my experience of using it, it really do have a powerful longevity on my skin. I wore this foundation at 6pm, and went home after an event at 12, looking at the mirror and I would say that this foundation doesn't budge at all! Since I have a combination skin, any foundation usually makes my skin become a little oily at the end of the day but it's a different case for this one. You really don't have to worry about touch ups.

I applied the foundaton a little too thick on the back of my hand hence why it looks cakey. But trust me, this won't look cakey at all on the face! It gives a a matte finish but not too matte. However, the consistency of this foundation is really thick, so applying with a brush can be tricky as it could leave streaky marks. So it is better to be applied using fingers or a damp sponge.

As for the coverage, I would say that it gives a medium to full coverage. It covers my dark spots and redness really well. The only downside to this product is how it is packaged. I am sure many of us would prefer a foundation that comes with a pump cap rather than having to pour the product out like this one. It is hard to control the right amount that you need. Plus, because the foundation is too thick, I found it quite hard to get the product out and have to give it a little jerk, just like pouring out tomato ketchup. What a hassle!

Here how it looks on a selfie!

Overall, I do love this foundation so much. I got it for RM56.80 from Watsons. A good foundation to splurge on if you're looking for one that gives good coverage but will not leave your face looking cakey, and will last very long. Highly recommend!

Pros :

  • Medium to full coverage
  • Long lasting
  • Not cakey
  • Lightweight
  • Good oil control
  • Fair price

Cons :
  • Inconvenient packaging
Rate : 4.8/10

Before I start off with the review, let me explain to you about my hair condition. I have a mid length, thick, naturally wavy hair which I love, but sometimes they can get really dry, especially at the ends and frizzy. That's the main problem for my hair, frizzy. I'm actually tired of trying every kinds of shampoo available at the pharmacies, from the cheapest to the luxurious ones that will make my hair less frizzy, until I found out that the main ingredient, Sulphate in shampoo might be the cause for the frizz in my hair.

The most common sulfates that are used in shampoos are Sodium Laryl Sulfate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS) and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (ALS). You better check your shampoo now. The reasons why companies use these ingredients in the shampoo is because it is a cheap ingredient that helps your shampoo to leather up. However, it is bad for your hair because it strips away the natural oil produced from your hair, thus making your hair really dry, frizzy and brittle.

Therefore, when I saw word 'Sulfate Free' on the tube of this shampoo, I am totally attracted to it. Okay that's a lie, the first thing that made me attracted to this shampoo is the purple tube. Cute! This is actually my first time trying a Sulfate free shampoo, and I put quite a high expectation on it.

The Shampoo

I was actually surprised the first time I used this shampoo because it leathers up really well! For a sulfate free shampoo, I thought I need to use more of the product than regular shampoo to get my scalp really clean but I actually need just a thumb size of this shampoo per use. So one tube will actually last you quite a long time because you only need a small amount of the shampoo to wash your hair. For the scent, it smells really nice, like a sweet flowery scent, however it does not linger in your hair for too long.  The result is significant! I realize that my hair is a lot more tame, less frizzy and easier to manage, especially when I woke up in the morning, looking in the mirror and be like, "hey no more bed hair!". I got the shampoo for RM43.90 at Watsons. You can get it for cheaper during Sales.

The Conditioner

The product itself is really thick. To me it's just like a normal conditioner, but it does moisturize my hair really well and leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth. I don't even want to use any other conditioner for the shampoo though, I really feel like they complete each other and I have to use them together to get the best result. hehe. The conditioner have the same scent as the shampoo. This one also costs RM43.90 at Watsons.

Overall, this is really the best shampoo and conditioner that I've ever tried. Most regular shampoos out there will leave my hair feeling dry and frizzy, but not these babies. I will never let my hair touch any shampoos that contains sulfate in the ingredients anymore! Sulfate free shampoo sure do costs more than the regular ones but trust me, for the result that you're gonna get, it worth every cents. Time to change your shampoo! There's a lot of other brands out there that makes sulfate free shampoos that I'm sure your hair gonna love. Give it a try!

Pros:

  • Tames frizz
  • Not drying
  • Love the scent
  • Leathers up really well
  • Affordable

Cons :
  • None
Will I repurchase?
Totally!

Did you know that the acne on our face can be due to certain parts of our body experiencing some health issues? Just like how Reflexology points on our feet are linked to our organs, our face can also reflect our health by having acne on certain areas. I discovered about this thing called 'face mapping' a while ago and it has helped me a lot in finding the true solutions to most of my acne. The face mapping actually have been used since a long time ago in Chinese traditional medicine. Below, I have attached a complete picture of face mapping with the explanations for every affected areas on our face.

So the next time you're breaking out and thinking that your products are the cause of it, think again! It might be due to our internal system. Just refer to this face map and fix what's needed to be fix. Good Luck!

Ladies, we all know how torturing it is to get a period pain. Been through it, totally understand it. For your information, the reason why we get period pain is due to our uterus wall muscles contracting to get rid of the lining (blood). And this contraction of muscles is caused by the prostaglandin hormones produced. Here's an equation to simply everything :

Prostaglandin hormone produced = Contraction of muscles = Muscle Cramp = Period Cramp

So the higher the amount of prostaglandin hormones produced, the more severe your period pain will be. That is why some of us girls will experience a greater cramp than the other girls. Our hormonal levels are different for each person! You are the luckiest person alive if you don't get any period cramps during menstruation. So be thankful as all of us here wishes to be you. LOL. So I decided to write this post with hope that I can help a little to ease your pain during the battle.

1. Do not drink Iced Water.

Please, please avoid drinking any cold or iced water at least a week before you get your period. ( Check your calendars!) Cold temperatures will only worsen your period pain. I've experimented myself by trying to only drink plain warm water a few weeks before I get my period. I even ordered only warm water when eating at restaurants and guess what? No period pain at all for that time of the month! It is amazing how a simple thing that we do on our daily basis can affect us so much for that few days of menstruation.

2. Exercise

I know this sounds bull. You might be thinking how in the world can you do exercise when you can't even get up from the bed. My advice is, -try. Some of the pain could actually come from your mind. This is what we call mindset. So just get up, sit straight, and do some exercise because it can help to increase your heart rate, therefore more blood is pumped throughout the body. This will then releases endorphine to counteract the prostaglandin and ease your cramp. Some simple yoga exercises also can help relaxing your muscles, and reduce the pain. You can easily search for yoga poses online that can help through period pain.

3. Heat

When I was younger, my sister will ask me to take a water bottle and fill it with warm, almost hot water and put it onto my abdomen area while lying down for period pain relief.  The heat will actually help to relax your muscles and thus ease the pain. You can simply buy a heating pad from any pharmacies instead of using water bottles because the water will stay warm longer. Other than that, a simple circular massage can also help. Put a few drops of massage oil on your palm and rub your palms together a few seconds to generate heat. After that, just massage your abdomen area in a circular motion without applying too much pressure.

4. Cut down on Coffee

Caffeine in the coffee can be bad during you menstruation because it will constrict your blood vessels, and tighten the uterus. If you can't let go of coffee, drink the decaffeinated ones. Other foods that are high in caffeine should also be avoided such as carbonated drinks and chocolates. Yes girls, chocolates.

5. Distract yourself

Really, just go busy. Just drag your attention away from the pain and go have fun! Have a shopping therapy with your friends or something, or if you're like me, just force yourself to sleep and have a good rest. I always force myself to sleep if it's the kind of pain where I can't even get off from the bed, just curling myself up in the blanket lol. When that happens, I'll try to breathe slowly and steadily to relax and clear my mind. It will instantly help to make me fall asleep.

Whatever happens, just please put the painkillers as your last choice. I know a lot of my girlfriends who depend on the pink colored pills during menstruation to help them to ease their pain. Just remember that the painkillers will affect your kidneys and overall health in a long run. Try herbal supplements instead. I would recommend the Alfalfa pills by Shaklee.
Thank you for reading!

To be honest, I am not a liquid foundation person. I always opt for BB creams or just a face powder when I go out. Probably because I don't like how some foundation ended up making my face oily at the end of the day. When Maybelline releases this powder foundation, I was amazed by the good reviews that it gets from other beauty gurus and immediately went out and got one for myself. Keep on reading to know my opinion about it!

The Packaging

I am not gonna lie, that I just LOVE how simple and classy the packaging is. It has a white cover with metallic silver wording on it, and a clear bottom. It is not a bulky packaging means you can easily keep this in your handbag without taking up much space, and is very sturdy too! It has a very big mirror inside which is really helpful when doing touch ups and comes with a soft sponge as an applicator.

Refillable

Another great thing about this powder foundation is that you can buy a refill! Do you see that blue circle with a hole in the middle of it on the sticker? That is where you should push through a pin or anything pointy to get the powder case out and replace it with a new one. You can buy the refill at a cheaper price, so that you don't have to pay twice for the packaging itself. Plus, it comes with a new sponge too. Very nice isn't it?

The product

I find that the powder is really smooth and it gives a light to medium coverage for my skin. What I really like about this foundation is it comes with SPF 34++. Perfect for someone like me who have my lazy days where I don't feel like putting on sunscreen. *feeling guilty* Other than that, it can withstand sweat really well! I have been under the scorching sun a lot with just this powder but the product never slip and slide due to sweat. Therefore I rarely need to touch up my face throughout the day. Though, I don't think that the claim that it stays matte and fresh for up to 12 hours does the justice. My face do get a little bit oily around the T-Zone after about 6 hours with this on, which is still pretty impressive.

Swatch

I really like how matte the powder is and how well it covers some of my acne scars, in this case my veins. Lol. However, you have to be careful as this powder can sometimes emphasize the dry patches on your skin. So be sure to apply a moisturizer prior to this powder!

In a nutshell, this powder foundation has actually become my staple makeup product. It only retails about RM23.90 at the drugstore. If you haven't try it out yet, I have to say that you should! Especially if you love that natural finish without the cakey foundation look on.

Pros :

  • Sleek packaging
  • Sweatproof
  • Great oil control
  • Light to medium coverage
  • Affordable

Cons :
  • Can emphasize the dryness on your skin

Will I repurchase?
Yep!

I ordered my Wonder Pore Freshner from a friend when she had a trip to Korea a few months back (and a few other stuff hehe) because I've been wanting to try out this toner for the longest time ever. I do have problems with my pores often being clogged so the word 'Wonder Pore' really sold me as I assume that this is supposed to be great for the pores. This one that I have is the 7 in 1 total pore solution, they now have an updated one with 10 in 1 total pore solution. It claims to :

- Deep cleanse the pores
- Maintain ph 4.5 +-
-Control large amount of sebum
-Minimize appearance of pores
-Refine skin tones
-Keep the elasticity of pores
-Moisturize inside and outside of skin

What I really like about this toner is the size. I mean, come on, that is HUGE. I have used this for months and months and I still have a little bit more left. Though, it is quite pricey for a toner. I got this for around RM70.

It comes with a press-pump which I find really innovative and hygienic. I usually just take my cotton pad and press it on the pump for 1-2 pumps. Once the cotton is soaked, just wipe the face as usual.

The amount of makeup residue after using this toner

Look at the makeup residue that the toner picks up from my cleansed face. Yikes! Imagine going to bed with that amount of dirt mixed with our nightly moisturizer. Gross. Another great thing about this toner is that it really does help me to freshen up in the morning. What's important is that it doesn't dry out my skin like some other toners out there. However, I don't really see it helping my my clogged pores. This may clean my pores really well, but the main issue is still there, even after using it for quite a long time.
To me this is a good toner, but it is not really amazing and quite over hyped. I believe there is still other better toners out there that can help with my pores.

Pros :
  • Freshen up the face
  • Doesn't dry out the skin
  • Remove makeup residues

Cons :
  • Doesn't really help with my pores
  • Quite expensive
Will I repurchase?
No. It's not a bad product, but I'll move on to other toners.

When I was scrolling on Twitter, I found a gif image of a really interesting looking fish eating another fish. It was a batfish and made me laughed so hard when I googled for more of their images.

Just look at the lips! HAHA. This guy right here is really rocking em red lips. I surrender. This fish wins. So I decided to look up for more animals that looks like they are wearing makeup. I hope they entertain you as much as they did for me!

1. Hotot Rabbit

Hotot Rabbit definitely looks like they are wearing an eyeliner! Such a majestic looking creature.

2. Secretary Bird

Dem I envy your eyelashes gurl, where did you get them from?

3. Red-Cheeked Cordon Blue Bird

Oops, too much blusher!

4. Wild Frog

Perfect nails Mr. Froggy, perfect nails for the summer. Are they Essie's?

5. Dusky Leaf Monkey

When all else fails, Pink Eyeshadows! Gotta highlight those eyes.

These animals are really cute and beautiful that they can be even more beautiful than most girls in the world. Jealous mode. hahaha. Maybe Mr. Panda should start learning from our friends here on how to cover his dark circles.

Panda be like : Bitc* please, I'm still cute in any way!

My face can get pimples really easily sometimes especially when I'm stressing out or when I am not cleaning my face properly with all the makeup I have during the day. So I'm always up to try different kinds of masks out there to help clearing the breakouts and any dirt off of my face. I heard that clay mask can do a very good job in drawing impurities out of the skin, especially for people with oily skin. So I decided to try out one of the Freeman's Clay Masks available in the market and got one in Mint & Lemon. There are several other ones like Avocado & Oatmeal, Chocolate & Strawberry, and Acai Berries. But I decided to pick this one up because of the good ratings that it got from the internet.

As you can see from the ingredients listed, it uses bentonite and kaolin clay for this mask. Both of these are very beneficial for our skin. Bentonite clay is also known as the 'healing clay' and is very good for detoxifying the skin while kaolin clay helps to purify and deep clean our pores. The consistency of this mask is quite thick, but the application is very easy. The color light green, just a typical color of a clay mask. I usually just use my fingers to apply the product on the problematic areas, which is usually around my T-Zone. But for this review, I'll apply it to all over my face to get an optimum result.

This is me trying to look scary with the mask on. Hehe.

Upon application, the mask really does give a minty feeling when it is on, which is quite refreshing.  But the mint kinda goes away while it is drying up. And it does smells like lemon! But the scent is not too strong, just settle. Once it dries, it leaves my face feeling tight and will leave cracks if I try to smile. That's when you know you can already rinse it off, which usually takes around 10 minutes.
To rinse it off, I use lukewarm water because it is easier to 'melt' the mask compared to using cold water. And then I splash my face with cold water at the end to close up the pores.

I can actually see in person that this mask does help a little in lightening my face. It is probably due to the lemon. After rinsing the mask off, my skin felt so soft and smooth! Even the pores are less visible so putting make up after having this mask on is a breeze. The only downside of this mask is that it can be a little bit drying. So putting on moisturizer afterwards is a must.

Overall, for the price, I think this is a very good mask. It only costed me RM20 for this huge tube at Watsons.

Pros :
  • Helps to clear breakouts
  • Lighten the skin a little bit
  • Smells good
  • Soften and smoothen the skin
  • Very affordable
Cons :
  • Quite drying
Will I repurchase?
Yes

Hello again! Today I thought I'll do a review on Silkygirl's Matte Fever Lipcolor Balm which I have had for awhile now. I got mine in the Shade 04 Siren, which is a classic red color with blue undertone. This kind of 'lip crayon' is trending really fast in the market now and when I saw this one on the shelf for only RM22.90, I knew I had to get it into my lipstick collection!

As you can see, the bullet is kind of short, but fret not, this product is actually going to last for a very long time because the bullet is actually quite thick. Plus, the pointed end makes the application a lot easier if you want to create a precise line around your lips but you do not have a lip liner. So no worries about it bleeding around your lips.

This lipstick glides on very smoothly and easily upon application. The color pay off is really amazing and totally buildable. However, I find that this lipstick is not really moisturizing despite it being called a lipcolor balm, hence why I am calling it a lipstick. It is not drying on my lips but I still prefer to apply a lipbalm beforehand, just in case. Dry lips with a red lipstick is a BIG no no.

Swatch on lips

Oh my god! Please excuse my under eye circles and my bare face, it is the exam week, so I have been sleeping quite late for a few days now. Anyway, just look at the color! Such an amazing quality for the price. I wore this once to my friend's birthday party and got lots of compliments on it from my girlfriends. Longevity wise, it actually last quite long but if you want the exact coverage and pigmentation, you do need to reapply especially after eating or drinking. So I always prefer to drink with a straw while having this on.

Overall, I really really like this lipcolor and I think Silkygirl had done a very good job on this one. Their product has been better and better nowadays! Would love to try out the other shades after this.

Pros :
  • Very pigmented
  • Glides on very smoothly
  • Amazing coverage
  • Very affordable
  • Decent moisture level
Cons :
  • Transfers easily

Will I repurchase?
Yes! I want to try out the other colors available

Acne can be so frustrating especially if we have a date or an event coming really soon. So here are my top 5 tips that I've been practicing every now and then on how to get rid of acne fast, if not an overnight treatment. And nope! I am not talking about popping those pimples out because that can be really bad for your skin. Please avoid popping them because it can lead to other problems such as scarring and irritation.

1. Tea Tree Oil

I swear by this oil for an overnight treatment for my acne. Tea Tree Oil is good for your acne because it contains antibacterial properties to fight the bacteria causing your acne and it also helps to dry out your acne fast. What you can do is just grab a Q-tip, soak it with a little bit of Tea Tree Oil and spot-treat the areas of your acne. You can do this anytime you want, especially before bed. I always get mine from my local drugstore, from the brand Aiken, which only costs about RM13 for 10ml. Now that's a dupe compared to Body Shop's which costs about RM40, also for 10ml.

2. Toothpaste

My mom actually thought me about this trick and I still do practice it sometimes when I am out of my Tea Tree Oil. Your regular toothpaste can actually doubled up as a pimple cream! Believe it or not? Just dab a little bit on your acne and go to bed with it. The next morning, you will realize that your acne has shrinked and the redness is lessen. Just make sure you're you using toothpaste and not toothgel.

3. Aspirin

Aspirin acts as anti-inflammatory, so it can be really helpful for your acne. Just crush one tablet of aspirin into powder and mix with a little bit of water to form a paste. After that, apply the paste onto the affected areas. Some people will feel a little tingly feeling once it is on, but don't worry, it is just the product working. Once it is dried, the paste will harden. Just rinse with water or use a damp washcloth to wipe it off. It can help with redness and to dry the acne.

4. Cinnamon and Honey

Another DIY recipe is to mix a little bit of cinnamon powder with equal part of honey to form a paste. Cinnamon is a natural acne remedy that have antibacterial properties to fight the bacteria from your acne, while honey is a natural source of antibiotic that can speed up healing process of any inflammatory and prevent infections. When these two are combined, it makes a great natural spot treatment for your acne. If you don't have any honey laying around, you can just mix the cinnamon with plain water. Vice versa, you can just use honey on its own.

5. Garlic

Garlic has high level of antioxidant that can be very helpful for your acne. It is also have anti-fungal and anti-bacterial as well as anti-viral properties. Just take one garlic clove and peel it. Using a knife, create 'scratches' on the garlic to get the juice out. After that, just rub the garlic onto your acne and leave it to dry, or overnight. Do this several times a week and your acne will calm down.

If you don't know yet, Vaseline is a brand known for its famous petroleum jelly that comes in a tub with various sizes. There is a lot of beauty benefits that you can get with petroleum jelly and the best part is it is so inexpensive! You can easily find Vaseline from your local drugstores. Behold, as this is going to be quite a long helpful list!

1. Lip Balm
Vaseline can be a very good lip balm replacer as it can do a very good job at moisturizing your lips! I usually just buy a small tub of this and put it in my handbag so that I can moisturize my lips whenever I want, after eating or drinking. It also can act as an overnight treatment for your lips. Just slather this all over your lips and go to sleep! You're gonna wake up with the most supple and soft lips ever.

2. Lip Scrub
Surprisingly, Vaseline can also do wonders as a lip scrub. What you have to do is just add about half a teaspoon of Vaseline with equal parts of regular sugar, preferably brown sugar. And just scrub away those flaky, died skin cells from your lips, and rinse it off. Your lips are going to be chapped free and super smooth! Plus, it makes lipstick application easier and more beautiful as your lips are now just like a perfect, clean canvas for your lipsticks.

3. Lip Gloss
Dab on some Vaseline over your matte lipstick to act as a lip gloss! It will give you that healthy glossy look without changing the color of your lipstick.

4. Eyebrow Gel
If you have a pair of messy eyebrows, simply tame them by applying some Vaseline using a spooly brush or your finger. This makes your eyebrows stays in place all day. Talking about an eyebrow gel that cost only a dime.

5. Feet Cream
I always apply some petroleum jelly all over my feet before bed, especially on the heels and this keeps them hydrated and supple the next day. Say byebye to cracked heels!

Keep your cuticles soft and moisturized by rubbing some Vaseline all over your cuticles and your hands. This will make your cuticles looks nice and healthy.

7. Body Moisturizer
You can actually use Vaseline on any dry patches of your skin, like your elbows and knees. Just rub it into your skin before bed or after shower.

8. Nail Polish Barrier
If you're someone like me, applying nail polish can be a struggle sometimes. Save your time from cleaning the area of your fingernails afterwards by applying some vaseline all over the skin base of your nails to avoid painting over your skin. Easy!

9. Hair Tamer
If you want to go for that clean sleek high ponytail look, just rub some vaseline on your hair to keep those flieaways down. You can do this trick for your baby hair too, especially if you're an asian woman with a lot of baby hair. They can get annoying sometimes.

10. Makeup Remover
You can also use Vaseline as a spot corrector for your eyeliner, eyeshadows, lipsticks, you name it. Just take a q-tip, put a little Vaseline on it and just swipe away your mistake.

11. Fragrance enhancer
This really works, just dab on some Vaseline on the areas that you should apply you fragrance on - like on your neck, wrist, behind your ears and the inside of your elbows, and just put your fragrance on top of the Vaseline. This helps your fragrance to last longer.

12. After Shaving Cream
Rub some Vaseline all over your shaved areas to lessen the redness or irritation that you can get from shaving. This helps to soothe the skin and leave them feeling silky afterwards

13. Highlighter
For that healthy and dewy look, simply rub a little bit of Vaseline on your cheekbones as a highlighter. Just make sure not to apply too much as this can clog the pores for some people.

14. Intensify eyeshadows
You can also use Vaseline as an eyeshadow primer. Just put on some Vaseline, set it with translucent powder and put on your eyeshadows afterwards. This  makes the colors of your eyeshadows more pigmented and last a lot longer.

15. Itchy Skin
Rub some Vaseline over your mosquito bites or on your itchy skin to help soothe and relieve the itchiness.

16. Eyelash Serum
You can actually use Vaseline for a longer, thicker lashes. Just coat some Vaseline on your lashes especially on the roots before going to bed and overtime, it will promote hair growth of your eyelashes. A lot of people swears by this!

17. DIY Cream Blush
If you have any cracked blusher and you really don't want to throw it away, simply crush the blusher even more into a powder and mix a little bit of Vaseline until you get a cream-blusher-like consistency. And use your fingers to apply it on your cheeks.

18. Helps earring insertion

I stumbled upon this mascara in KL when I was browsing for an eyebrow pencil at Watsons, and my thoughts were : "Is this a new mascara from Silkygirl?" And decided to ask the salesgirl and she told me that it is the improved formula of the old Lash Prism that used to be in a grey tube and now they repackaged it in a yellow tube with black cap. So I decided to try it out and got one in 01 Blackest Black.

I am not sure if they changed the wand or not because I never owned the old one, but this is how the wand looks like! It is described as cross hook with fiber brush, and the wand appears to be curved a little bit in the middle, makes sure to coat each and every one of your lashes. About the formulation of the product, I found that it is a little too wet for my liking because sometimes the product transfer to my eyelid because it takes a little time to dry. But once it is set, this mascara is amazingly smudgeproof and waterproof! I am not even kidding, been in heavy rain with this on, and unpurposedly rubbed my eyes at an event (because I was really sleepy at that time) and this mascara just stays on really well. It never gives me any panda eyes so far.

As you can see from the before and after picture, the mascara did a very good job at lengthening my lashes.  However, it did not give me much volume or thickening of the lashes. It is quite disappointing because this mascara claimed to give 9x more volume than regular mascara. I only applied one coat of the mascara in this picture. Any more coats will just give me a spidery legs looking lashes, which you really want to avoid. You might also want to use an eyelash curler for this mascara because the curling effect is very minimal for me. Thus, people with shorter and less lashes might not really like this product. But for me, I think that this mascara is great for daily uses and also for my bottom lashes.  I really love it especially for my bottom lashes! It really lengthens them and makes them visible. I can't remember how much did I pay for this mascara but do note that Silkygirl products are always affordable. So don't worry!

Pros :
  • Lengthen the lashes really well
  • Waterproof
  • Smudgeproof
  • Great for bottom lashes
  • Affordable
Cons :
  • Doesn't gives much volume or thickening
  • Doesn't add curl
  • Doesn't give any dramatic effect

Will I repurchase?
Probably for my bottom lashes, but for now I am still searching for a better one out there. Comment below if you have any suggestion!
