Iman Ridzuan

Intro To Tarte is Tarte's 2016 Holiday Edition Kit that includes their best selling products for you to try out! And yes, this is my first time trying out makeup products from Tarte so it is the perfect name for the kit lol. I got this during Black Friday for 20% off from RM60 if I am not mistaken. Great deal!

Inside the box it comes with three of their very popular lipstick, a blush and a mascara in deluxe sizes. It is the perfect size for me to put inside my makeup pouch that I always bring to my workplace for reapplying of makeup after prayers because they don't take a lot of spaces. So I did get to play around with these products for a while therefore here's my honest opinion about them!

Drench Lip Splash Lipstick in Living

First of all, love the packaging. So sleek, the only thing I don't really like is that it leaves fingerprints. Not a huge matter though. Formula wise, it is sooooo buttery smooth and so pigmented! One swipe can already give you full coverage, but you can totally layer it on for more opacity. The color is like a mauve pink shade. Some people said it is their MLBB lipstick, personally for me it's way darker than my natural lip color, but perfectly okay for an everyday lipstick. Longevity is okay, definitely transferrable as it is so creamy, but as long as you do not eat or drink, you are safe haha.

Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara

Again, love the packaging. Different than your ordinary plastic cylinder tube. It is still plastic, but the patterns on it is pretty cool. Except if you have phobias with reptile skins lolol. The wand is may look like nothing special, but woah it makes such a huge difference for my lashes once I start applying it on. It is packed with fibres so it really helps in thickening my lashes. It does help curling my lashes which is awesome because I'm not an eyelash curler person in the morning cause I need to quick quick quick rush rush rush for my work haha.

My lashes are pretty long enough so thickening and volumizing is what I am looking for and it does not disappoint me in that department. However, this mascara tends to transfer easily to my lids during application and worst of all, it smudges. It doesn't smudge too badly, but enough to make me not loving it. So I would mainly use this for my upper lashes, and go for other mascaras that I know won't smudge for my lower lashes. But it's pretty easy to remove with wet wipes so yay for that. And no it's not waterproof.

Swatches :

Bare lashes

One coat. I purposely skipped eyeliner so that you can see the full performance of this mascara, but you can clearly see how it messes a little with my eyeshadows lolol. But I just go over them with eyeliner after that anyway so no big deal.

Side by side comparison. ( Left : With . Right : Without)

Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Unstoppable

Last but not least, my favorite from the bunch! This blush is A-MA-ZING. Pigmentation is not overly high which is good for me because you can never go too overboard with it. The last thing I want is having clown cheeks lol. Very buildable and easy to blend too. The shade Unstoppable is a muted peachy or salmoney color, which is great everyday blusher for my warm skin color. It does last very long too! Not sure about 12 hours but wore this from 10 am to 6pm and it is still there blushing.

It looks very settle on camera, but on person, it's totally there. Will find a better camera for ya guys okay?

Overall, I am very satisfied with the kit. Individually, they are not amazing, but definitely good that I grab them quite a lot. Hence the already coming off writing on the packaging lolol. If there is one thing I'll be purchasing the full size, it will be the blush. Now I am more curious to try out other Tarte products!

Hello again! I am in the feeling of sharing more skincare loves with you guys so here I am with my current favorite moisturizer! It is the one and only Royal Expert White Whitening Cream. If this your first time hearing about this brand, then I am so honored to be the one introducing it to you muahaha.

This brand is actually from Pakistan and it made its official debut of online website to sell their products in Malaysia on 2009. That was about 8 years ago. I remembered using this cream when I was in high school once. For reasons that I cannot remember, I stopped using it and transitioned towards other moisturizers. But I remembered loving it and how good my it made my skin looks during my teenage years.

A little background of how I started using this cream. (Skip if you're not interested!)

During my Diploma years, I was one of those girls who totally got sucked in with all the hypes around local skincare products. Probably because I've seen results with my own eyes from my friends who are using them as well. Back then I was uneducated about the mercury content in most local products and the aftermath it can leave your skin with. I've tried probably I would say...three brands of local skincare? None of them improves my skin except making it worse. Ugh, even reminiscing on it already makes me feel stupid enough. Why la I terjebak dengan semua tu?

Thanks to mostly the Twitter community, because I've started hearing bad things about local skincare products so and seeing my skin just gets worse and worse with all the little pimples and clogged pores, that at one point I was like, that's enough. I am tired of  trying new things, I will just go back to what I know will work. So I started using drugstore skincare again, which are the Gamat cleanser and toner from Safi and a moisturizer from Organic Aid. Those products are the ones that I used during my high school years as well. Alhamdulillah, with those products and the extra help of my beloved Clarisonic Mia, my skin started clearing up. Unfortunately I am left with a lot of scars and hyper pigmentation (forever regretting local products) so I decided to invest in this cream to help lighten them up. I just know it will work!

I'll have to warn that there is Methylparaben used as preservative for this cream. The arguments about parabens in skincare will never end I guess so it is basically a personal preference. If you want to avoid it, then you do you! I personally am okay with it since I do not want fungal or any bacterias to grow in my products lolol. You can read more about parabens being used in skincare here.

Now reading from the description, it has a lot of claims, huh? I'll list them down for you

Brightenig
Moisturizing
Reduce wrinkle
Tightening
Nourishing
Removes pimples

Are those claims true? Well, keep on reading!

Texture wise, is very interesting. It is more like a balm, rather than a cream. It is very thick but it melts right into your skin once you rub it in. This cream has a minty scent to it and you'll feel a mild cooling sensation when you apply it to your skin, which I loveee. The first time of using it will be very significant, but you'll get used to it and may not realize the cooling sensation anymore after awhile lol. For oily skinned people like me, don't worry. Despite the thickness, it does not make my skin oily at all.

This cream retails for RM125 from their website, but you can get it for cheaper if you buy them in sets of your preferences. I personally get mine from an instagram shop for RM120 and I got this cream, Royal Expert Whitening Soap and a free beauty mask. I use the soap only in the morning because I like to use a more intense cleanser to get rid of my makeup. I do mostly use this cream in the morning. I have about three night creams including this one and switch them up depending on my skin needs at that time. But hey, for using it only once a day now, the result that I'm getting is remarkable. Here's proof in pictures :

I mean, obviously the lighting is totally different but you cannot deny how faded my hyperpigmentation and scars are! My overall skin tone has evened out and brightened. This is after 3 months of using it religiously. Whaa? Just where did most of the pigmentation on my nose and cheeks gone lol! I cannot tell if this cream actually help with pimples because yes, I do not get pimples anymore except for that time of the month but I solely believe that is majorly due to my Clarisonic. But just try it! You won't regret I promise haha.

Hands down, by far the best topical cream ever. You'll see results I can guarantee. Price wise, not very friendly to the pocket but hey, for 50ml? It is so worth it! Almost four months of using it and I'm just at almost half of the tub. Oh yeah, speaking about tub, this does not come with any spatula so if you're afraid of contamination, I would advise using your own spatula instead of your bare fingers. Even if you've already washed them, okay?

You can get your Royal Expert products here

Pros :

  • Brightening
  • Fades acne scars and hyperpigmentation
  • Even out skin tone
  • Just overall makes your skin glow
Cons :
  • none none none, but I do wish they sell it in the drugstores.

I got this collection of three best selling products of Innisfree from my friend Eika as a birthday gift ( thank you so much Eika! ) which has really opened the door for me to venture further of what Innisfree has to offer out there in the market. Inside this paper bag, there are three samples of essentials in korean skincare routine which is a mask, serum and a moisturizer. I am going to talk through about each product and give my full thoughts about them. But first of all, let's just appreciate how cute the packaging is. I mean, you can clearly tell what would be inside by just looking at the green tea leaves, orchid flower and volcanic particles? Come on.

Green Tea Seed Serum

Green tea is one of the best and popular ingredients that we see being used into skincare products and it is not a surprise due to its amazing benefits. It contains great amount of antioxidants, amino acids, enzymes and pretty much anything that you'd need to stay hydrated. The consistency of this serum is less thicker than any other serums that I've tried before. It's pretty runny and transluscent so I run out of this sample pretty quickly. After using the whole bottle of it, I would have to say that I'm a bit disappointed by this serum as I was expecting more potential from this serum from the hypes that it gets. Basically I do not notice any difference on my skin except that it aids a bit more of hydration on my skin, but other than that, it's a decent serum. Does not break me out or make me oily. I would recommend this best for people with normal to combination skin type.

Joan Kim is one of my favourite to watch on YouTube and she swears by this cream. So I was very excited to see this inside the package. However, I don't think this moisturizer suits my skin type. I have oily skin and I find that this cream is too rich that it leaves my skin looking like an oil slick in the morning. I also find that it clogs my pores which is a huge no no for me since you know how long I've been battling to clear up my skin from clogged pores. The cream itself is thick but it does absorbs quickly into the skin, and beautifully scented as well, which could be a drawback to some people who do not prefer fragrance in their skincare. I think this moisturizer will suit best for people with dry skin like Joan. Nothing wrong with the moisturizer, it's just not for my skin type.

Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask

To me honestly, this is the star product in this collection. This is the best clay mask that I've ever used! And when I say the best, it really is! I've tried many from the drugstore like Freeman's to high end like Kiehl's, this is hands down the most moisturizing clay mask that i've tried. Sounds pretty weird aite? Most of the time with clay masks I will rinse them off just after 5 minutes of application  to avoid that overly drying and tight feeling. But what distinct this from the other clay masks that I tried is that it doesn't leave my skin feeling too tight and dry even when I have it on for 15 minutes! The result that it gives is da bomb dot com too because I can visibly see that it shrinks the size of my pores and makes my skin less oily throughout the day. I usually use this mask after having a long day of full makeup on to detox and clarify my skin. Will definitely repurchase and recommend this to anyone!

Props to innisfree for coming out with a cool concept like this. You can easily try out their best sellers before buying the full size product which I think is a very great idea! At least now I know which product to be added (and to avoid) into my skincare routine.

Pros :
  • Have products targeting for every skin type
  • Generous sample sizes
Cons :
  • You may or may not dislike one or two products in the collection

Happy New Year girls and guyss! I hope you're having a great kick start for the 2017. Put all the bad things in the past let's focus on the present and future aite? What's better than starting my new year post with my favourite skincare for 2016? Introducing *drumrolls and confettis* the original Clarisonic Mia! I am so excited to share with you guys about this magical device that I've been testing out for quite some time now. Mind you that it's going to be a pretty long post hehe.

If you read my blog post about my current favourite facial wash by Mario Badescu Enzyme Gel Cleanser, I did mentioned that I used that in conjunction with this device and they have been doing wonders for my skin. But first, what is the Clarisonic?

What is Sonic Cleansing?

Clarisonic is a number one cleansing device recommended by the professionals as it uses a sonic system to cleanse the skin 6 times better than using your bare hands alone. Instead of rotating like any other cleansing device, the clarisonic oscillates, which means it moves back and forth at more than 300 movements per second - THAT SPEED THO. And while you're washing your face with this device, it will also help to massage and bring all the impurities within deep pores to the surface of your skin. Sounds amazing right?

Um don't judge my drawing please, I used paint haha! I hope this makes you clear bout the difference between rotation and oscillation. So why oscillating device is so much better for skin than rotating ones? Basically rotating face brushes can tug at your skin while you're using it which can cause rashes and premature wrinkles. So the sonic cleansing technology works with skin's natural elasticity to loosen up dirt and oil without messing with the skin surface.

I bought my Clarisonic Mia from the Sephora Malaysia website because they only have Clarisonic Mia2 and later edition at my nearby Sephora outlets. I figured that I do not need the Mia2 for the price difference and from the reviews online where people said the original Mia works just as wonder for them. My skin concern was mainly clogged pores and trust me when I said I have tried tonnes and tonnes of skincare to combat these, I really did.

Inside the box, the clarisonic comes with a magnetic charger, sensitive brush head and a Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser. I've never tried the cleanser yet so I can't comment on that. The whole thing costed me RM576. The price of Mia2 has dropped to RM583 instead of RM617 when I was purchasing this so if you're thinking of getting one, I'd say just go for the extra RM7 and you'll have all the cool upgrades in Mia2.

This cleansing device is totally waterproof so you don't have to worry about using it in the shower. The battery lasting power is incredible too! I've only had to charge once since I bought it and it has been a few months. They said it is very gentle that it can be used twice  a day but I personally think that it is too much because it still is going to provide some kind of exfoliation for the skin so I only use it once a day, at night, hence the battery lastign for such a long time.

The clarisonic claims and clinically proven :

1. Cleanses 6X better than hands alone
2. Makes skincare applied after to absorb 61% better
3. Clears breakouts
4. Minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines
5. Improves skin elasticity
6. Increase skin hydration

And yadda yadda, well just basically beautifully transform your overall skin health and appearance! Here's a demo to how it works :

So I applied some bb cream onto the back of my hand and used a makeup cleansing cloth to remove it. My hand looks like it is well cleaned from any makeup right? So as usual I would double cleanse with normal cleanser after taking my makeup off to cleanse my skin. But when I use the clarisonic to clean my face, just look at how dirty the brush head is still! No wonder my cotton pad was always stained when I used toner after cleansing. But since I've been using the clarisonic, I realised that my cotton pad stays so clean and white after toning. This is just bb cream at the back of my hand. Imagine your face with full makeup on? Yikes.

And yes, this happens every single time, no matter what time of makeup remover I used prior cleansing my face. Oil cleanser, Micellar water, wet wipes, the clarisonic brush head will turn stained nonetheless after I use it. This alone just shows how well it picks up the leftover makeup and dirt off my pores. I notice that my skin feels so much cleaner and smoother after every session of cleansing.

I have been using this device since mid July 2016 so it has been approximately 5 months now and man, look at how much my skin has improved! Ignore the major different lightings but I did notice that my skin are getting brighter. That is probably because my skincare have been absorbing into my skin a lot better after cleansing, hence I always wake up with a glow on my face in the morning. And obviously the major difference is how improved my skin in terms of texture.

I used to have a lot of bumps especially around my forehead and cheeks, and acne used to loveee growing on my chin. But now, I rarely get any pimples! Except for that one tiny itty little one during menstrual cycle. Even so, it will be gone after like, 2 days? The bumps due to clogged pores are totally gone now and my pigmentation has lighten up a lot. I am wearing makeup in both pictures but we can definitely tell that a good clean canvas makes a good painting now right? Now that I look at these pictures I just noticed how dull my skin was and how bright it has become now. Haven't had clear skin in such a long time and now I can finally breathe again lolol. I've got so many compliments and questions about my skin too.

I cannot say enough good things about the Clarisonic. I LOVE IT and I will totally recommend it to anyone with any skin issues. Definitely worth every single cents spent! The best skincare investment I have made for sure. Trust me because I have tried so much cheaper alternatives from the Olay Pro-X facial wash to a manual pore brush, nothing works to clear my skin but this.

Pros :

  • Clears breakout
  • Cleans makeup and dirt very efficiently
  • Removes my bumps completely
  • Brighten the skin
  • Makes any other topical skincare to work more effectively
Cons :
  • None! I wanted to say the price but for the result that you're getting, the price tag makes a lot of senses.

At first, I was very skeptical to use this product when the package arrived to me. My first thought when I looked and swatched it was, "Man, that's shimmery!" It is weird that this product is marketed as a face powder when it got tons of shimmers in it. Who would have thought to put shimmers all over their face? But oh life as a beauty blogger, I decided to just give it a go.

First, I am not fond of the packaging. Personally I think it is unnecessarily bulky. It does comes with a mirror and a brush too which is great. But man, the brush is so stiff and rough that I feel like it will irritate my skin if I am using it for a powder brush. A powder brush shouldn't be densely packed. If you were to use this over a foundation, it will just move your foundation around because it is so stiff and dense. So I wish they could've just skip the brush and come up with a more compact packaging that won't take as much space to travel with. Plus it is very  plasticky and feels kinda cheap too. The color tho, I love!

The powder itself comes with a cool design. The hearts are each pigmented with different colors so it is a bit misleading there considering the name 'Translucent'. People who buy this solely thinking that it's gonna be a translucent powder might be a bit disappointed because it's definitely not. Especially that one pink heart. THAT is pigmented like it wants to be a blush.

Formula wise, this powder is soooo soft and fine. The shimmers are real guys, I really thought that it could be one of those disappointing products where the shimmers are just an overcoat spray. But I've used this powder for a lot of time now and the shimmer game is still strong.

Like I said, I was very skeptical to use it at first so I started using it as a highlighter first. And yes, it does work as a highlighter, but a very subtle one. And you do have to build it up to make it more visible. If you're a beginner to highlighter, this would be a great one to try. But for me, I loveeeeeeee my Mary Lou Manizer from The Balm so much that I was so intrigued to use Mary Lou on top of it to intensify the highlight, but homegirl needs to test out the product so ughhh. I mean it's not bad, it's just not enough for me. I want to be highlighted like KLCC at night lol.

And remember that pigmented pink heart? Your highlight will be pink based unless you avoided the pink heart when swirling your brush into the pan. I am more into a gold and yellow based highlight so that's probably another reason why I am not really feeling it.

That face tilt you do when you want to show off your glow lololol

As for an overall face powder, I am loving it for that surprisingly. See photo above. When I swatched it on hand, I was so scared to see all those shimmers but for some reasons it does not actually make me look like a disco ball! Then I remembered, isn't the Mineralized Skin Finish from Mac is pretty much the same thing? The shimmers are so fine that it kinda makes me look like I glow from within. Especially in indoor lightings, man it looks so good. And the pink heart just adds a nice fleshed look for my skin. Just make sure you using a loosely packed brush to ensure that you're not picking up too much product.

I wouldn't recommend it for people who prefers a matte finish makeup look because obviously, duh. But isn't the new era now is all about that glowy and dewy look? Especially to those girls who adores korean's dewy makeup, go for it! But I would advise to stay away from this powder if you have enlarged pores because sometimes, glitters and shimmers will just make them look even more obvious. And of course, people with super oily skin would want to avoid being extra shiny with this stuff. But who knows right, makeup is very personal. Whatever works for me may not work for you and vice versa.

Pros :

  • Can be a subtle highlighter
  • Creates a glowy finish for the skin
  • Very soft and fine powder
  • Mirror installed in the packaging
Cons :
  • Bulky packaging
  • Brush inside is too stiff
  • May emphasize the appearance of pores
Price : RM59.25

I have been loyal to my Safi Gamat cleanser which is a local drugstore facial wash since I was in high school. But for some reason I kinda got immune to it so I decided to change my facial wash.

Story behind how I was introduced to this cleansing gel is during the mid year, I decided to make the greatest skincare investment in my life, which is to splurge on a Clarisonic Mia. ( Review will be up soon) And because I purchased a minimum of a certain amount, I got to choose a deluxe size sample and I went for this Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel sample since I have heard great things about it before.

When I got my clarisonic, I didn't even bother to use this cleanser with it yet, but after a month of using it and got disappointed for not getting the expected result from the clarisonic, I thought it's probably my cleanser. Because the cleanser that I was using was a foamy type of cleanser,  and the clarisonic itself is an exfoliating device, I thought maybe the combination is too much for my skin to take because my skin was getting so dry at one point so I thought, let's change to a more gentle cleanser. I mean, I paid almost RM600 for the clarisonic, I am not gonna give up on it and I just have try to find a way to make it work! LOL. So I decided to change to this sample cleanser and oh boy, I fall in love.

My skin concern was texture. I had tiny bumps on my forehead and cheeks that just won't go away due to clogged pores, no matter what I do and use for my skin. I get acne pretty frequently too. The active ingredients used in this cleanser are Papaya and Grapefruit extract which are a form of gentle Alpha hydroxyl acids that help prevent dulling build up that can cause break outs. It is marketed to be a non-foaming gel cleanser that effectively removes dirt, oil and makeup without drying the skin, which I find solely true.

True to its name, it is a light gel cleanser that does not foam at all even when I dissolve it with water. I was so used to using foaming type of cleanser that I thought that there is no way a gentle cleanser like this would work better for my skin. But I was so wrong. I don't know what kind of magic it does, but it really does cleanse my skin very well. It has a very subtle sweet natural scent. My skin feels so clean but not that squeaky dry clean feeling afterwards, which is great.

Just after two weeks of using this cleanser, I can clearly see differences on my skin. Bumps were slowly going away and I do not get acne as frequent anymore. Immediately after I was finished with the sample, I went ahead and bought the biggest bottle from sephora. That is how much I love it. Okay let's talk about the price. I paid RM99 for 472ml at Sephora website but to be honest, it is a good deal. 472ml is a lot! There is another one which is 236ml selling for RM73. So if you ask me, I'd say go big. I have been using this huge bottle every single night for the past three months and I haven't even reach half of the bottle yet. You only need a pea size per wash.

It has been four months of using it now, I can say that my skin has completely cleared up and I do not get any of those nasty pimples anymore, except for one tiny acne during that time of the month. My complexion is more glowy and brightened too. Of course, I have to give credit to my clarisonic too, I think it is such an amazing device. But the combination of this cleanser with my clarisonic is what brings my skin back to life lol. I will totally recommend this cleanser to anyone with any skin concerns. Now I just have to find the solutions to my scars and dark circles that are so loyal to my skin, sigh hahahah.

Pros :
  • Very gentle
  • Does not dry out the skin
  • Very effective
  • Clears my break outs
Cons :
  • None

Dear Santa Althea,

My name is Iman Ridzuan. Ever since I was a child, I've had this ultimate goal that is yet to be achieved. Growing up with animals ever since I was a baby, all I wish is to become a successful veterinarian to help as many animals that are in need. I have received an offer letter from a university that I've been dreaming of studying at to pursue my dream, but the tuition fee is something that needs a lot of considerations.

Dear Santa Althea, all I want for Christmas is a scholarship to pursue my dream, but I know that is a bit too much to ask for! So maybe, you can help me to prepare myself for scholarship interviews?

In order to get a scholarship, I have to be prepared mentally, spiritually, and of course, physically. All these categories are the keys to boost up my confidence. Althea is just the right place to help me on the physical aspect! After all, how you look on the outside will definitely influence how you feel on the inside and vice versa, right? My love towards korean makeup and skincare is endless. They have such an amazing products with amazing qualities and prices. Their technologies on this beauty platform is beyond phenomenal. I have purchased several times for my korean skincare and makeup from Althea and you and your elves has gained my trust even from the start. So here is my wish list!

Hey Santa Althea! I have never had a cushion foundation before. I don't know why, I guess I am too used of using bb creams and normal bottled foundations. So maybe it is time for a change? I have heard so many good things about the Laneige BB cushion Pore Control SPF 50+ PA+++. I appreciate foundations that come with sun protection so much! Since I have an oily skin, I think this is going to be the perfect first cushion foundation for me since it is specifically for pore control. Don't you think?

What is a good makeup without a good base? I am really intrigued to try out Banila Co's Prime Primer in Classic. One cool thing about the Althea website that you and your elves worked on is that we can read customer's opinions and reviews about the products. So the reviews that I read about this primer are quite promising and makes me really want to try it! The Classic one is said to be best for people with combination and oily skin. It is supposed to help with minimizes large pores, create smooth and even canvas, eliminate shine, and moisturizing which my skin is screaming for. LOL.

I have purchased the number 10 It's My Eyebrow Brush from Althea before and I am amazingly impressed with the quality! It is my favorite eyebrow brush and I use it every single day with my Skinfood Eyebrow powder cake. (also bought from Althea) So dear Santa Althea, would you send me a 08 It's My Blending Shadow Brush to be added into my collection? Ho-ho-ho! Because a girl like me can never have enough eyeshadow blending brush because she is all about the perfect eye makeup.

Hey Santa Althea, I heard that the Too Cool For School BY Rodin Shader is one of your bestsellers right? Contouring is one of my favorite step in my makeup routine lately because it can create dimensions on my face, avoiding the flat looking face after all that foundation and powder. I hope that this one by Too Cool For School will be a great addition to my routine! I have heard so many beauty youtubers especially koreans rave about this product. I have no idea where can I get it here in Malaysia, so thank you Althea for having it!

Lastly, I am still on a hunt for the perfect eye cream to treat these dark circles of mine. No matter how clear your skin is and how good your makeup looks, dark circles under the eyes like pandas will just make you look tired and can sometimes bring our confidence down. So I hope Santa Althea can help me in this department by bringing Tony Moly Panda's Dream Brightening Eye Base to me down the chimney tonight! hehehe.

Dear Santa Althea,
Thank you so much for this opportunity. And thank you so much for your time on reading my letter. I know that I haven't been too good this year, but I hope I'm good enough to be on the good list! It would be awesome if I can get my hands on the beautiful Althea's special blue Christmas box and card. I think the blue concept is very elegant and of course, I'll keep the box just like all my other Althea beauty boxes! Sorry they are too pretty to be thrown away and they make such great organizers on my shelf. hehe. Come down to my chimney for some delicious oven baked chocolate chip cookies and warm milk okay? Please pray for me so that I can get a scholarship soon for my study and do send my regards to your beautiful pixies, Pingo, Anis, Bo, Mira and all the other hardworking elves! #altheaxmas

Remember how much I didn't like the Nature Republic Super Aqua Max Moist Watery Cream? If you don't know what I am talking about, you can read about it first here. Sometimes it is not the product's fault that it is not working the way you want it to be because pushing everything aside, it all depends on your skin type. So before you buy a certain product, make sure that it is specifically targeted for your skin concern.

The reason I decided to buy this cream is because of how much I love it from a small sample that I got from Nature Republic. It is one of their most popular moisturizer, pecifically the green tub one, gets the most high rating from reviews online compared to the other two.

This one in particular is suited best for people with combination skin which means your skin is oily on the T-Zone, and dry on the cheeks. The ingredients used are pretty cool to me. It contains nutritious extracts from deep sea plants, namely chlorella, plankton, sea weeds, and even collagen! These ingredients is said to be helpful in strengthening skin's ability to defend itself against the external environment. It also promises to deliver 24 hours long lasting moisture.

This moisturizer does not contain any spf, so you can use it for both morning and night moisturizer. That's what I use it for at least.

I have been using it for almost a year and I still have a lot left. It is not oily at all and not as thick as a gel so the name 'watery cream' exactly impersonate the product inside. The smell might disturb people who doesn't like strong smelled products but it smells amazing to me! Very refreshing.

Packaging wise, it did not come with any spatula or anything like that to scoop out the product. So I have to use my own Q-tips as I hate sticking my fingers into my products as it can contaminate them. The amount that you're getting for the price you paid is totally worth it as a little but of it goes a long way.

As you can see from the comparison above, it does not leave my skin looking oily or shiny. In fact, it doesn't look any different than how your skin normally is. But as you touch your skin, you can definitely feel that it makes your skin smooth and soft, which make applying foundation on top a breeze. It also feels very moisturizing even when I have to sit in the air conditioned room for hours.

There is no downsides to this product, except that it only moisturizes your skin and nothing else. I would definitely recommend it if you already have perfect skin and looking for a simple and effective moisturizer. But for me, I am looking for something that will over time improves my skin condition as I have scarring and a little textured issues.

Normal price for one jar is RM59, but I got it from Althea for RM45.

Pros :
  • Affordable
  • Moisturizes well
  • Non-oily
Cons : None

Rate : 4/5
