Ever wondered if you can save more with online shopping other than using promo codes? Yes you actually can! As a massive online shopper, I always always make sure that I use this method to save as much money as I can, as little as a cent. Because you know why, sikit-sikit lama-lama jadi bukit! So let's save up!

Have you heard about Shopback? Shopback is an online website where you can find more than 500 participating brands that you earn cashback from when you shop in their website, through shopback website. Is it a little confusing to you? Don't worry! I'll guide you through.

“Cashback” means "to get your money back". When you shop online at our partner stores through ShopBack, we will give you a portion of the money spent back to you as Cashback." - cashback.com

So basically, when you want to shop at let's say, the Sephora website. Instead of going directly to the Sephora website, you should log into your Shopback account and choose Sephora at the Shopback website and you can gain a certain cashback from your total spending. For new Sephora users, you can save get up to 6% cashback. Therefore if you spend RM100 on Sephora, RM6 will be credited back into your shopback account. I KNOW RIGHT? So cool!

Okay, first thing first, go to this link below and sign up and account. Use my link below to get a free RM5 in  your account ;)

https://www.shopback.my/referred-signup-bonus?raf=NjoNRi

Press the sign up button at the top right corner of the webpage. And sign up using your facebook account or email account, you know the drill. Then, sign in as usual.

Once you logged in, you can choose where you want to shop from. Don't worry! They have so many merchants from all categories. Hotel, flights, fashion, gadgets, foods, you name it!

Now because I use my shopback account to shop at Sephora the most, let's use Sephora as an example for this walk through. heheh. First, type in 'Sephora' in the search bar and click on it.

As in circled, you can see the cashback details on how much will you earn. It is different for every shops. As you can see, first time purchaser will get 6% and existing customers will get 2% of cashback. Now click on activate cashback to get directed to Sephora website. This step is CRUCIAL.

You must and have to use only the link that you're directed to when you're making your purchase. Do not use other tab or new window. What I like doing to be safe, is to log into my Sephora website first, choose everything that I want, and close my Sephora tab without logging out. Then, I use the shopback link to proceed with check out. This is to avoid confusion as I love to open a lot of tabs when shopping online to read reviews and stuffs.

Now, just shop as usual as you always do! Except for now, you're getting 6% of your spending back into your account. Woohoo!

Here, you can see your transaction history of total earnings, pending earnings, rejected, etc. Usually it'll take about 1-2 days for your cashback to be credited into your account.  When your money is finally redeemable, go to your payment details, fill them in and request for payout. That's it! Easy peasy.

I honestly have never make any withdrawal yet, just because I like seeing the numbers going up LOL. It's like, it's okay if I shop more because I'm actually saving more too. pfft. But yeah! i hope you learned something here and, happy shopping!

Get free RM5 upon first purchase when you sign up using this link :

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you may have realized that a lot of super moisturizing products tends to break me out. I don’t know why, it’s just my sensitive skin I guess. So I never stop looking for the perfect moisturizer that suits my skin the best. I know cream moisturizers never work for me, and gels are the best. But I am curious to know how lotions will work on my skin. When I think of lotion moisturizers, I think of Hada Labo.

They have a few variety of these moisturizing lotions that you can choose depending on your skin type and concerns. This one that I purchased is for whitening. It has two versions, which is regular and rich. Reading reviews online, people are saying that the rich one is a lot better than the regular one no matter what skin type you have ; oily, normal or dry, so that’s what I went for.

If you know Hada Labo, you know one ingredient that they are popular for ; Hyaluronic Acid. This acid is very known for it's moisturizing benefits and is used in a lot of skincare brands. The whitening range combines 3 types of Hyaluronic Acids to ensure deep hydration of the skin. This lotion also contains Arbutin and Vitamin C Phosphate that acts as natural and gentle brightening ingredients. It contains no alcohol, colorant, fragrance or mineral oil. Sounds very promising!

Arbutin is an extract from natural bearberry plant. It is natural and safe with effective whitening properties. Arbutin is a popular and widely accepted ingredient in Japan as a skin whitening and depigmentation agent. Arbutin is used to enhance skin fairness and helps fight dark spots. Dull skin is renewed to reveal clear, fair skin. - Hada Labo website

The consistency is more like a milky toner than a lotion which is very watery, more like an essence. It is best to use your hand to pat this lotion into your skin than using a cotton pad. I use about two drops and that is enough to moisturize my skin through the night. The moisturizing effect is powerful! I wake up with bouncy and plump skin whenever I use this at night. It takes a little while to be completely absorbed though, probably around 40 seconds of patting it in.

The whitening promise is definitely true. I can literally see my skin looks a lot brighter in the morning, but I think to get the long term effect of whitening, you definitely should use it every night. I am in love with the effect that it leaves my skin with, except for one thing. It breaks me out. I realise that when I put this at night, I’ll get little bumps like two or three around my cheeks and chin. OMG! Such a bummer because I really really love this thing a lot and still have a lot to go through. I never used it in the morning though since it makes my oily skin oilier in this hot weather. It  has 170ml of lotion at the price of RM64.90 at drugstores. You can purchase them for RM50 something or cheaper when it's on sale.

Maybe the rich formula doesn’t suit my skin, but I don’t think I’ll try the regular one either. At least for now. If you have dry skin, I think you will love this product a lot better. It’s just not for my oily skin. Too bad!

Pros :
  • Very moisturizing
  • Brightens the skin
  • A little bit goes a long way
  • Available at the drugstores
Cons :
  • Doesn't suits my oily skin

In my last article, we discussed on 6 Benefits on Beauty Sleep. But how do we actually make sure that we get all the benefits that beauty sleep have to offer? Keep on reading to know!

1. Sleep early

You won't get the same benefits of beauty sleep when you sleep from 2am and wakes up at 8am as when you sleep at 10pm and wakes up at 4am even though they both total up to 6 hours of sleeping. Our body has its own time to repair what organ at what time, and not sleeping at the right time will interrupt each process. So sleep early!

2. Sleep In The Dark

You HAVE to sleep in total darkness, I can't emphasize this one enough. Sleeping with lights on, or with fairy lights is actually dangerous for your health and can lead to cancer. Light too, can disturb your biological repairing system. I really hate it if I accidentally fall asleep at night without turning off the light, because I can literally feel my body feel more sluggish and tired when I wake up versus when I sleep in total darkness. If you're afraid of the dark, try setting a timer on your light so that it will be automatically turned off say at 11pm when you're already in deep sleep.

3. Sleeping Mask

Try : Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

Take a full benefit of your sleep by laying on good skincare before you sleep. Try a sleeping mask so that you'll wake up with a plumped and hydrated skin. Take this opportunity to really treat whatever needs to be treated as your skin is repairing itself. Your skincare products are just going to boost up these processes and work so much better.

4. Makeup Remover

Try : Biore Mild Cleansing Liquid

NEVER EVER sleep with makeup on. That is the worst thing you could ever do to your skin. Keep a makeup remover towels on your bedside table on days when you're super tired and don't really want to spend time on full skincare routine. At least take the makeup off. Sleeping with your makeup can cause clogged pores and bacteria build up all on your pillow cases. Yikes!

5. Avoid drinking Water

Staying hydrated is number one key to beauty, but it is not necessarily beneficial if you drink 90 minutes before you sleep. You want to avoid drinking because it can cause water retention, hence causing puffiness on your face and eyes. See, plump and puff are definitely different. That is why it is advisable to massage your face upwards when applying moisturizer in the morning to reduce puffiness.

6. Use Silk Pillow Cases

Cotton pillow cases are actually harsh for your hair. They can cause frizziness and more prone to breakage. Silk are so much better to avoid these problems and to maintain overall health of your hair. Of course, it is good for your skin too! Especially if you're a side sleeper like me. Sleeping on silk pillow cases is said to be a good prevention from wrinkles thus preventing signs of aging as it is so much gentle on or skin versus cotton.

If you're reading this after 10pm, I would suggest you turn your device off and read my article tomorrow morning. Beauty sleep is called beauty sleep for a reason; because it's real. A test is done by the LadyLike crews where they get different hours of sleep to see if there's any difference in their overall appearance and experience the next morning. If you haven't yet, you should totally check out the video down below :

Human biological clock is amazing. We have all heard and learned that we should get 8 hours of sleep a day. Logically if you're a working person or a school student, you should wake up at 6am or later. So to get a full 8 hours of sleep, you would have to sleep at 10pm, which, not a lot of us are able to achieve. Researchers studied that our body actually starts to repair itself at 11pm until 4am during our sleep. The key here is to get an optimum amount of sleep. Imagine when you actually starts to sleep at 3am? How much interruption have you caused to your body system? And why is beauty sleep so important?

Prevent and Heals Breakouts

It will be very obvious to tell around our eyes when we don't get enough of sleep. But actually, it affects more than just the eyebags and dark circles. Our skin will heal a lot faster when we are asleep, therefore if you're suffering from breakouts, you should check your sleeping schedule. Not getting enough sleep makes our body lethargic and causes stress, hence contributes to breakouts.

Brighter Eyes

Regarding to point one, I mean, obviously right? Reasons why we get eyebags when we're tired is due to accumulation of blood vessels under the eyes. Lack of sleep causes interruption to flushing out of excess fluids, so they just gather up under the eyes. I mean, pandas are cute with the black eyes, but you're not. So get some sleep!

Maximize Products Potential

Read : My Night Skincare Routine

What's the point of slathering expensive skincare routines when they can't work at their maximum potential? Skin cells regenerates during our sleep to reveal a brighter and smoother skin. Now imagine your skin doing this along with the help of your products? Your skin will thank you for sleeping hours earlier.

Healthier Hair

Stress due to lack of sleep will cause your hair to be brittle and dull. Your blood circulation will be efficient when you sleep early and enough, and this includes the blood circulation through your scalp. If you need to study for exams, it is better to wake up earlier than to sleep late. Sleep at 10am and wake up at 4am, to study. Do this within a week and you'll definitely feel a lot better. Say no more to dandruff, hair fall and brittle hair!

Reduce signs of aging

During the middle two hours of your sleep, a hormone called melatonin increases. This hormone helps with skin protecting antioxidant. Yes! You can get antioxidant not only from your diet, but also from your sleep! Antioxidant helps with preventing free radicals from sun exposure that can cause fine lines and damage collagen. God is amazing, it's free to just sleep. Why waste it?

Toxic cleanse

Let's admit it, we all head to the toilet first thing in the morning when we wake up. When we're asleep, our body does a full toxic cleanse to clean all the unnecessary bad stuff from our body. Clearer body means clearer skin. No wonder people who don't get enough sleep tend to fall sick more frequently. Forget about detox waters and teas, just get enough of sleep!

Keep in mind that beauty sleep is does not affect the outside alone, but your overall inner health and mind as well. If you feel like you're lacking in performance at your job or study, try to sleep earlier. Your brain will function better making you more alert, and overall performance of health and beauty will improve. I realize that I often got sleepy in classes if I sleep any later than 10pm. Happy sleeping!

I was looking for a dupe for Benefit Gimme Brow that I loveee so much. I never did a review on that one because it was just a small sample that I got, I wanted to make sure that I buy the full size version if I ever want to make a full review on it. But as for now, I’ll say that it is SO SO good it’s a must have!

Okay now back to the main topic. I love brow mascaras because they’re easier and quicker to use for that natural brow look. Sometimes all I need is just some tinting to darken my brows without making them looking too perfect and browcara will come in handy.

There are not many choices in the drugstore, but I have been eyeing on this one by essence for the longest time and decided to finally pick it up. For the price, I think it was really worth it. The wand size is good even though I’d prefer it to be tinier because sometimes I got a little impatient and the product will mess the outside of the brows. But that’s my fault for the most part anyway, a little wipe will settle everything.

As to compare it with the Benefit one, I think the tint in this is a little thinner than Benefit’s. Benefit one is the perfect shade for me which is a really deep deep dark chocolate colour whereas Essence one is slightly lighter than dark brown and more grey. This is the darkest shade that they carry, the other one is for lighter hair.

The spoolie on is a little bit scratchy, so I have to be gentle not to scratch my brows and take off any hair lol. Can you see those little fibres on the spoolie? Those fibres are the ones responsible to make your brows look fuller and thicker, which it did. Not much, but it did. The product itself lasts long on the brows. They're not waterproof, but at least they don't dry down crunchy like some other brow products that makes me feel uncomfortable.

I would highly recommend this brow mascara if you don't want to draw your brows but still want them to look naturally better and fuller. It is so quick to use and inexpensive at only RM12.90. You can get them at Watsons. What are you waiting for? Get yours now!

I’ve never heard of this brand before I know Althea. I am not sure if it’s sold anywhere else in Malaysia, but I’ve heard pretty good reviews on few of their other products. There were not much reviews on this blusher when I searched for it, but it did get pretty good reviews nonetheless, so I thought I would just give it a try.

This blusher is RM46 at Althea. It is not super cheap, but pretty inexpensive for 11g worth of product. I think the witch’s hate sticker on the packaging is super cute! Though, I’d prefer if it comes with a mirror. This is quite a bulky packaging, so having to bring a separate mirror is quite a hassle. On a positive note, at least you can see the colour inside. It comes with a brush under the blusher, but there’s no statement at all on the packaging or the website on what material the brush is made of, so I’ve never bothered to use it since I am a Muslim. I have to be cautious since it could be made of pig’s hair. I'm pretty sure it's made of animal's hair and not synthetic because I can see some strands are black, and some are white. But if you’re a non-Muslim, then this could be a great brush!

So let’s get to the product itself. To be honest, it is not that great to me.
Firstly, it smells just like any other cheap blushers that I bought way back, during my high school times. It smells cheap. Not an overpowering scent that you can smell it on your face, but just, meh. I got mine in the shade 02 Berry Pink which is straight up a pink shade.

The powder is pretty smooth, but a little chalky in my opinion. Pigmentation is strong though, I don’t find myself having to go to the pan a few times to get the colour on my cheek. But, I dislike the colour. I was expecting it to be more like what it supposed to do, make me blush. But instead, it kind of makes me look like I have a redness on my cheeks. Every time I put this on, I regret it and wished that I have put on a different blusher instead. But, this blusher lasts on the cheeks for the whole day! It is super amazing because I don’t have much blusher in my collection that can stand through the oil on my face the whole day. This one did, so two thumbs up for that.

Overall, there’s nothing really wrong with this blusher, except that the colour is a little chalky and just doesn’t suit my skin tone. You can get it if you want to try it, but I think there are so many other better and cheaper alternatives that you can find at the drugstore like Essence and Catrice.

Want to know the right tricks for a flawless makeup? Keep on reading!

1. The Skin

Read : 11 Healthy Green Juice Recipes

The most important thing is of course, a clean canvas. You may apply a huge amount of makeup and still look more natural than other people who did only concealing on certain areas, just because you have a flawless, clear skin. I mean, you can probably hide scars, but you can't hide bumps.

Therefore, I would recommend to really invest in a good skincare routine and foods before your makeup products. Why foods? It is simple. You're what you eat. Load yourself with healthy snacks like dried berries and fruits instead of those unhealthy chips. Add more vegetables in your daily meals to really get all the good vitamins. If you're someone who hates eating vegetables, try green juice instead. Simply blend the greenies of your choice with your favorite fruits such as strawberries, apples, and mangoes. You'll feel so much better inside out.

2. Primer

Read : Best Primers

A primer is a necessity for a long lasting flawless makeup. But a good primer isn't necessarily the most expensive one from a high end brand. The key is to find the right one for your skin type. If you're an oily person, search for primers with 'matte' or 'shine-free' labels. If you have dry skin, search for 'moisturizing' or 'dewy' primers. Meanwhile, if you have trouble with enlarged pores, simply search one that is specifically for pores filling. I promise you, it will make such a huge difference on your makeup performance.

3. Undertones

Finding the right foundation shade is one thing. Finding the right undertone for your skin, is another thing. I see a lot of beautiful girls with ashy foundation color that cringes me. It's okay girl! Step by step, and practice makes perfect. I'd suggest that you go to MAC or Estee Lauder counter to get analysed by their beauticians to know accurately your shades and undertones. Though, I know a lot of young girls might be afraid to walk into those counters, I've been there. There are few ways to determine your undertone, but I will teach which I think the easiest.

Basically, there are 3 undertones; Pink, Neutral and Warm. A lot of us Asian  are born with warm undertones. To know yours, look at the veins or your wrist under sunlight. If it's blue, you have pink undertone. If it's green, you're warm. And if it's in between or a little hard to tell, you're most probably neutral. Foundation brands like Maybelline and Too Faced usually will insert these labels like 'warm sand' or 'cool rose' so it's easy to tell. By doing this, your foundation will look more like skin than a layer of mask, thus enhancing your natural beauty, looking more flawless.

4. Color correcting

High end

Drugstore

Maybe not a lot of us have time for color correcting every single day, but for important events, you do want to look flawless for the photos, right? Color correcting before concealing will come in handy. I will talk about the 3 common colors used by makeup artists.

  •  Orange

Use this color to brighten dark areas such as under your eyes. It will make such a huge difference than using concealer alone. For deeper skin tones, you can use orange or red, and for lighter skin tones, use peachy,  less vibrant orange color corrector.

  • Green

Green color corrector will come in very handy on days when you have acnes or red marks on your face that you want to cover. The green will neutralize redness so your acnes and pimples won't be too obvious.

  • Purple

Purple is used to brighten hyperpigmentation or dullness of your skin. People usually use this color to look brighter and healthier since it helps to neutralize dull yellow undertones on light to medium skin tones.

5) Setting spray

Setting sprays are life savers! If you've never tried one, you definitely should now. Are there times when you feel like you've powdered too much or when you stay under the air conditioner for too long that your foundation starts to cling onto your dry patches? Setting mists or sprays will definitely save you from that. Not only it makes your makeup looks a lot more put together and flawless, it will also help to make it lasts longer too. Remember, primer is the starter, and setting spray is the finisher! A very good setting sprays are the ones from Urban Decay.

Those are my 5 tips to flawless makeup! Honestly, there are a lot more out there, but these are the ones that I think will be the basics that are really going to help your makeup, especially if you're just beginners and trying to learn things. Until then, good luck!

A)     Do you remember the first product that you ever purchased online? What was it and how was your experience?

I remember exactly the first purchase that I ever made online! I was a high school student if I am no mistaken, and I purchased some clothes from a media social platform, and it wasn’t really a pleasing experience for me. That is because the clothes that I got were not really what I see online. I think I paid more than a RM100 and got quite a few of clothes, but there were only like 2 to 3 pieces that I liked, and am okay with. The rest, they’re just very bad in terms of quality and fitting. I felt quite cheated but they were quite inexpensive anyway so I can’t complain much.

My first purchase from Lazada however, was a very wonderfull experience. I bought a vitamin serum from a Korean brand, CO2 OST Original Pure Vitamin Serum. Everything was packaged nicely and delivered in time. And it is still one of my favorite serums to use until now.

B)      Which type of products would you prefer buying online?

I made a lot of beauty products purchases online, especially Korean beauty products because sometimes they are much cheaper online, and of course, because it is a lot more convenient that way. I got a lot of stuffs that I can’t get physically here in Malaysia from brands that isn’t available in
Malaysia. Other than that I also love to purchase fashion related things like clothes and accessories. I made some skincare purchases from Lazada before and so far, they've never been dissappointing!

C)      What do you love about online shopping?

How convenient it is! Everything is so much easier nowadays, especially for companies like Lazada, where we can just download their app and browse through the things whenever and wherever. I also love the fact that I can put certain things on wish lists for later purchase so it’s not a hassle at all to find the exact things that I want. You’ll also not be as much disappointed to know that certain products that you need is out of stock. You can just choose to get notified once the stock has arrived. Unlike going to the mall, that’ll surely very disappointing considering the effort you took to drive miles, paying for tolls and parking fees.

D)     Which products did you buy or are you planning to buy on Lazada during the Online Revolution sales?

I loveee skincare so much! So I'll definitely take this opportunity to get me some good deals on skincare items. Recently they just brought in Clinique as one of the skincare brands in Lazada, YAY! I love Clinique. And during this online revolution sale, they'll give a free gift set consist of a lot of their popular products with any purchase while stock lasts. I am hooked! I am planning to purchase this blemish cream since I am currently breaking out due to stress for final exams.

Free gift set

The Online Revolution sale will last from 11 November 2017 until 14 December 2017, so you guys should really hurry up! There are so many good deals to check out and it would be a shame to miss. You can visit the website here : https://www.lazada.com.my/online-revolution
