What I adore about Too Faced products are definitely their packaging. Almost majority of the concept of their products are inspired by delicious foods. So when they combine the two of the best things in the world; makeup and foods, BA-BAM!

I got this palette a while back in May as a birthday gift from my bae, so thank you so much to bae! I love you to the moon and back, hehe. This is the updated version of the original chocolate bar palette which Too Faced claims to consist of cooler shades while the semi sweet version has a warmer shades. Let us just appreciate the packaging real quick. It comes in this chocolate bar shaped tin with a magnetic closure. So cute.

It consists of 16 beautiful shades made of 100% cocoa powder, and this palette legit smells like cocoa powder. As a major chocolate lover, I approve! It has 7 matte shades, 6 shimmery shades and 3 glittery shades. I think this palette is very versatile as you can create unlimited looks with the shades given. From daily makeup to smokey eyes for a dinner party, you name it. Any look can be achieved with this palette.

In terms of quality and pigmentation, I am surprised on how buttery and smooth these eyeshadows are. They are super blendable and lasts pretty long on the lids.

I personally love every colors except for two, which are Pink Sugar and Blueberry Swirl. I had a high expectation on Blueberry Swirl as it is supposed to be the pop of color in this palette, but the pigmentation could be better. While as for Pink Sugar, it's really just straight up glitter. You have to wet your brush if you really want the pink color to show up.

On the other hand, Peanut Butter is my favourite shade in this palette. You can either use it as a transition color or overall lids, both are super pretty. I usually use it as an overall lid color though. Coconut creme is also great to be used as a highlight on the brow bone. It is matte, but I sometimes use it instead of shimmery highlighters to lightly highlight the inner corner of my eyes just to brighten up the whole look.

Overall, I really do love these palette despite some of the few shades that aren't my favourite, but I can get pass over that. I have been using it every single day ever since I got it. You can grab yours at Sephora and it retails for RM199. It may sound expensive, but considering you are getting 16 eyeshadows in this palette, you're basically paying for only about RM12 for each color. That's not too bad, eh? Two thumbs up!

2. The Balm Hot Mama

I bought this one because I need a new blusher. There is another choice of blusher that was on sale which is the Frat Boy, but I picked this one up because I heard that it is a good dupe for the Nars Orgasm blusher.

Eyeshadow base cum eye primer is actually an essential makeup product if you're someone who uses eyeshadows on daily basis. It's a little thing that can change your whole makeup look. Basically, like a face primer, it acts like an adhesive that can make whatever you apply on your eyes to last longer and smoother.

I have actually never tried any eyeshadow primer before, but now that I have incorporate eye shadows on my daily makeup routine, I went on a hunt for a good drugstore eye primer and opted for Catrice's eyeshadow base to try out. Gurl let me tell you what, I am hooked!

This product comes in a square tube with a doe foot applicator, just like a lip gloss, which makes it easy to be applied on the lid. I prefer this kind of packaging rather some other eye bases that comes in a jar which you have to dip your fingers into. I got it for RM15.90 and it contains 5ml amount of product, which I think will lasts me forever cause a little bit of this goes a loooong way.

The consistency of this is kinda sleek and silicone-y when you blend it in. Doesn't take long for it to be blended so that's good cause I'm all about spending my time to blend the heck out of my eyeshadows, hahaha. I definitely went a little heavy on the swatch, you only need like a dot on each eye and it will do the magic just fine.

I am using NYX's eyeshadow to test it, and as you can see that this base helps to make the color appears more vibrant. The color that I am using is Harlequinn which has this kinda holographic shimmers that you can't see in the picture, but the primer definitely reflects the shimmer better.

Longevity wise, this base seriously held my eyeshadows all day all night long! It doesn't make it crease, it doesn't move, and oh I am just so in love with it. Usually my eyeshadows will fade if not disappear at the end of the day if I don't use any bases because I have slightly oily eyelids. So why settle for RM85 Primer Potion from Urban Decay when you can get a good one for RM15? Well, obviously I've never tried the UD one but if you are looking for a good, cheap one from the drugstore, I will definitely recommend Catrice.

And no, your concealer won't do the same thing girl, trust me, they are both completely different things. I used to be that girl too, who thought that any concealer would do just fine as an eye primer, hahahah girl, NO. It may enhance the pigmentation a bit, but it won't make your eyeshadow lasts all day. So go get yours now!

Pros :

  • Enhance the pigmentation of eyeshadows
  • Make application of eyeshadows a lot smoother
  • Make your eyeshadows lasts all day and night
Cons :
  • As far as I know, Catrice is only available at Guardian stores at the moment. Comment below if you know any other places that sells them!

Hello everyone! Okay I gotta admit, brow products are one of my staple makeup products that I know I cannot live without. Such a simple thing like this can actually change your whole look. I used to love Silkygirl's Natural Brow pencil so much. But today I'm gonna share with you guys a product that replaces the Silkygirl one from my makeup routine.

This Skinfood Choco Eyebrow Powder Cake is a duo eyebrow powder that comes in a small palette that looks like a chocolate piece from a chocolate bar. I appreciate the sleek and slim packaging that makes it easy so carry it around in my purse. The description says that it contains real cacao powder from chocolate that helps to protect eyebrows, keeping skin healthy around eye areas and this eyebrow powder creates a beautifully natural brow.

It comes with a freaking huge mirror which I loveeeee. I find myself gravitating towards this palette instead of my compact powder to be carried in my purse for its mirror so that I don't have to bring other bulky mirrors for touch ups. It also comes with a small brow brush so you don't have to bring a separate brush for travel. Though I found that it is quite hard to work with the brush due to the short handle, so I always use my own brow brush.

As far as color selection goes, there are two types that you can choose from which are #1Gray Khaki Black and #2Gray Brown. I got one in #1 since I have darker hair. It comes with a grey-taupe shade and another one is in dark brown. I abused that dark brown color lol. It's the perfect shade for my liking. I don't really use the lighter shade, and if I do I only use it for the inner part of my eyebrows and dark brown for the rest for that gradient effect.

As you can see from the swatch above, it may not seems like it is that pigmented, but that is actually a good thing for an eyebrow products, especially for beginners. It is safer to build up the color than going straight with a very pigmented shade that might end up making your eyebrows look a little harsh. So with a pigmentation like this, you can have a control.

close up

Note that I only put the product on my left eyebrow only. I haven't put concealer around my eyebrow hence it looking a little messy. But I can go the day with this look, it doesn't really matter because I think the eyebrow cake already did a great job at giving it shape. I am so not a pro when it comes to eyebrows department, but this product makes it really easy for me to practice because it looks very natural. It gives a soft look, so if you are more towards the bold type of eyebrows, I suggest that you top it off with an eyebrow pencil or pen.

Is it waterproof? Nope! Well, it's a powder product anyway. But as long as you don't rub the product in contact with water, it will not move. It's not gonna be dissolved just like that when water hits it. It is however, very long lasting. It really lasts all day on me.

Pros :
  • Very affordable
  • For natural looking brows
  • Long lasting
  • Comes with a mirror and a brush

Cons :
  • None

Highly recommend!
