Iman Ridzuan

Dark underarms is not a rare thing as there are a lot of causes that can lead to it. UV rays, shaving, genetics, you name it. This surely will affect someone's confidence especially if you are someone who likes to wear sleeveless dresses to events. Even worse when you already have a beach ready body for the bikini season @ summer time, but your underarms is not what you imagine it to be. Well, fret not! I'm going to share with you a product that might be just the perfect help for you.

Apparently peeling gels are  very popular in Japan. I'm pretty sure you have heard or seen the number one exfoliating gel from Cure that is known to be selling a bottle every 12 seconds, right? Crazy! Well, this one by Shiro Waki Hime does the same thing but for the underarms! There are not much beauty products targeting for our underarms care except for deodorant and hair removal product. So this peeling cream got me curious.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I don't have an issue with dark underarms so I can't really test this product for its main purpose. But, they said you can also use this cream for other darken areas of your body like your knees and elbows. I loveee multi-purpose products. Now let's test it out!

The cream comes out as a white paste that is initially easy to rub onto my skin. You only need a pea size amount. A little bit goes a long way! As you further rub it in, it will turn into very thick consistency, almost like a clay mask. You will then be able to see the cream peels off the dead skin cells, revealing a brighter and smoother surface of my skin. No kidding, it is so smooth like baby's butt!

Obviously, this cream works wonderfully, The ingredient that is responsible for the whitening effect is Titanium Oxide, which is totally safe so don't worry! It is commonly use as one of the main ingredients in sunscreens. Not only that, this cream contains 6 kinds of Hyaluronic acids and Squalene really moisturize your underarms.

Oh did I mention that this products smells super good? Some people may not prefer fragranced products, but I just loveee the floral scent.

You can get this for RM59 at SaSa or, for the lazy bums out there who prefers online shopping like me, you can get one at BFFSAYS beauty site. I mean, who doesn't want pretty underarms?

Happy Birthday Althea! In collaboration with Malaysian Bloggers, Althea had contacted us to give out this wonderful #AltheaTurns1 package for their birthday shoutout so thank you so much to the Althea Team! I am so excited to share with you guys the products that I got to pick.

This is going to be the third Althea box that I have in my collection. I have already purchased a few times from them and as usual, everything came in perfectly. The items are wrapped in bubble wrappers and packaged inside this beautiful high quality box. There will never be too much of pink!

1. Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

I've been meaning to try out this water sleeping mask from Laneige for the longest time because it is so hyped about. The name itself is self explanatory, you should put this on and sleep with it. It promises to deliver hydrated and brighter skin when you wake up in the morning. I've already tried this a few times and I am soooo in loved with it! I am not sure about the brightening department but I do woke up with hydrated, soft and plumped skin. Makeup goes on easily after that so this is going to be a must have for me. Plus it comes with a spatula which is very handy and hygienic. Recommended!

Original Price : RM115
Althea Price : RM77

2. Etude House Rosy Lip Tint in Tea Rose

This Etude House lip tint is very interesting because the finish is matte. That is very rare in the K-beauty products since the matte lip products are more popular in the western. You can do gradient lips or full on lips with this. I personally love to use it fully on my lips. The color that I got is Tea Rose which is a muted pink so it is like my lips but better type of lip color. It doesn't last very long and will wear off after a meal so reapplication is needed.

Original Price : RM49
Althea Price : RM29

3. Tony Moly Backgel Eyeliner in Black

I haven't been using gel eyeliner for quite a long time so I went ahead and choose this to get used with gel eyeliner again. The pigmentation is not super black but girl, it lasts on the lid! Once it is set, it doesn't budge, it doesn't move. This is also good for tightlining to get that fuller lashes look as pencils formulation can sometimes be too hard. This eyeliner comes with its own brush that you can take off from the lid. It's great because then you don't have to carry a separate eyeliner brush to travel with.

Original Price : RM31
Althea Price : RM17

4. Innisfree Capsule Recipe Pack in Volcanic Clay

This capsule recipe pack from Innisfree is so cute! It comes with 10ml of product and you can choose a variety one according to your skin needs. I'm pretty sure that this is going to last for more than one use. I just got the volcanic clay one because I love using clay masks to draw out the impurities from my skin. I wonder this is actually similar to their very popular Jeju Volcanic Clay Mask. I haven't got the chance to use this one yet as I still have other clay masks that I have to use up first. There are also other types to choose from which are Aloe, Canola Honey, Green Tea, Tea Tree, and Seaweed.

Original Price : RM23
Althea Price : RM7

P/S : They are having a clearance on this one for only RM3.50! So you're better hurry!!

5. Nella Snow White Oneday Whitener Lotion (40ml)

This one actually belongs to my sis. It is a quick whitening and brightening lotion that will last for the whole day. She said that it really works and that she loves it! I haven't try it yet to so I can't give my verdict about this product.

Original Price : RM59
Althea Price : RM30

6. It's My Eyebrow Brush

Althea also carries out It's My brushes and puffs and omg, they are super inexpensive! This one that I got is an eyebrow brush and it only costs RM5! *Jawdrops* The quality is actually pretty good and I have been using this in my makeup routine. Very easy to work with and the bristles are pretty dense. The bristles are made up of artificial wool and the handle is from aluminium and wood. For the price, it's totally worth it.

7. DIY Party Kit

If you make your purchase on 20/7/16 onwards you will be able to receive a DIY Party Kit that you can use to enter their Instagram contest. I have already decorated mine. You can read my previous post here to know how you can win amazing prizes for the contest!

Thank you Althea and have a Happy Birthday!

I hope it is not too late to wish everyone Selamat Hari Raya! How was your Raya? I hope you had a blast.

Anyway, I have several beauty products that I have used up so I thought I should share briefly about them, whether they are a hit or a miss. Yes, I keep the empty bottles and jars just for you guys okay. haha!

1. Dove Nourishing Oil Care Nutri-oil Serum. RM21

I loveee this hair serum. It works wonderfully at keeping my hair frizz free. Typically I would use this after I towel dried my hair, twice a day. I always leaves my hair feeling soft and more manageable. Definitely a hit and will repurchase.

2. Sheet masks. 4 for RM10

I have also used up a couple of sheet masks. These masks are always available at SaSa for RM10 for 4 sheets. A very good deal if you are like me who always love to pamper my skin from time to time with sheet masks. Usually I have no complain for all of their sheet masks, but I have to say that I really enjoyed the Snail Mucus Rejuvenating Face Mask from Sasatinnie. I put that on after a blackhead extraction session and it really helped to reduce the redness and calm my skin. So the next time you want to buy sheet masks from Sasa, I recommend you to give the snail mucus a shot. Trust me, it's not as gross as it sounds.

3. Garnier White Sakura Pinkish Radiance Essence. RM28

To be honest, I did not used this one up. But let's just consider it done since it has been left untouched for months till I finally decided to toss this one out. I kept finding ways to make this cream work because there is still a lot left in the jar but I just can't. I breaks me out, didn't give any positive improvement on my skin and it actually darken my skin even more. I have no idea why. I do love their yellow line though, however the sakura line just don't work for my skin.

4. Petitfee Black Pearl & Gold Hydrogel Eye Patches. RM35 at Althea

These are just like the typical eye mask, but I like to use it as a replacement for eye creams and sometimes over the eye cream for additional benefits while I sleep. It contains 60 eye patches, good for 2 months if you use it for every single night. The patches are soaked in essence goodness and totally dried up when you wake up in the morning. I did see slight improvement on my dark circles, and it does help to moisturize the undereyes pretty well. However, it would be a bad idea to travel with it because I did once, and the essence just leaked like nobody's business in my luggage even though I made sure to close it really tightly beforehand. But other than, it's an okay product. Not a must have though.

5. Soffya Collagen Eye Cream

This is a local brand skincare that I actually swear by for my eyes, because it is just so good! I saw improvements on my dark circles in less than 2 weeks, which is usually very hard to achieve by those drugstore or even high end eye creams that I've tried before. Nothing beats this one. You can obviously see that I love it so much that I scrape every single bits left till the jar is tottaly empty now lol. But no worries, I have already purchased a backup. I would say just give it a try, it's not even expensive. Plus they are having promotions now, so go ahead and check out their instagram at @soffyamy. It's organic, so why not?

This is the first product from Too Cool For School that I've tried. I've heard good things about it and when I saw it on Althea, I just had to pick it up. If you've been following my blog for awhile you know that I get my Korean products from nowhere else but Althea because of the too-good-to-be-true deal!

It is a whipped foam facial mask made from egg white and egg yolk extracts that claims to create a smooth and radiant perfection in as little as five minutes. I usually leave it longer than five minutes on my face though cause it usually takes more than that for the foam to fully dissolve on my skin. Eggs have so many benefits for the skin, such as tightening the pores and moisturizing the skin. So I do have high hopes for this mask.

The egg pack comes in a tin can with a nozzle for dispensing the product out. It is a really neat and hygienic packaging in my opinion comparing to other masks that usually comes in a tub or jar packaging that can be easily contaminated if you use your hands to get the product.

So when you pressed on the nozzle, the product comes out in this very interesting mousse texture, almost like a whipped cream! It is very soft and smooth, which makes application is a fun thing. The instruction says to dispense a ping pong ball size onto your palm and just massage it onto your face for a good one minute. Just massage it on like how you would when you're cleansing your face with a face wash, and then leave it on for five minutes. Your face will feel a bit tickling sensation as the mask dissolves into your skin.

Personally I think this is a good mask if your skin needs a pick me up session because it is very easy and quick to use, but the result is not bad. It is not an amazing product, but hey, it does what it claims. I do find that it brightens and leaves my skin feeling soft. Other than that, I don't think it is a staple product. But good enough to be used as a quick mask before applying on makeup.

Pros :

  • Very quick and easy to use
  • Brightens and softens the skin
Cons :
  • None

The Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Pack price origins at RM57, but I got mine from Althea for RM32. Check it out!
