Iman Ridzuan

Nobody, I mean nobody in this world, especially a teenage girl won't be terrified when an acne pops on their face especially on a very important date. For the past few months, my skin has been going through this phase of bad breakout where multiple pimples rise on my skin at once and God knows how insecure and terrible I felt. Lucky for me, I got this guy in hand. It has been a savior!

If you have read my blog before, you might have came across several posts where I mentioned how I love this stuff, but I never made a single post dedicated to it. I wonder why. So I got mine from Guardian for like less than RM10 during promotion. It is really inexpensive compared to Thursday Plantation's and The Body Shop's.

If you don't know yet, tea tree oil is great for treating acne because it acts as antibacterial, antiseptic and anti fungal oil, so its gonna help fight all those nasty bacteria from your zits and heal them a lot faster. I personally think that tea tree oil helps to treat my acne a lot more gentle than using benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid creams.

After four weeks I could say that my skin has cleared up a lot, and now I'm just focusing on treating the acne scars. Sometimes I just couldn't help not popping any of the pimples, so now I have to bear with the consequence of scarring issue. LOL. I just use a q-tip to apply the product directly onto the pimple. May I remind you though that this oil can be really drying on the eye areas, so avoid applying on the eye areas! I once got like a tiny zit on my eyelid and oh my god, it left me with a dry patch for weeks!

I even made myself a DIY face mist using equal parts of tea tree oil and rosewater ( do tell if you want a post of how i did it ) that has been really helping to keep my acne at bay. I don't get any new pimples anymore aside from blackheads and whiteheads. My skincare regime has changed quite a lot too. More brightening products for these dark spots. Stay tuned for more skincare update!

Pros :

  • Inexpensive
  • A lot more gentle than any other acne creams
  • Absorbs fast into the skin
Cons :
  • It has a strong scent so some people may not like it, but I'm fine with it
  • Very drying on sensitive areas such as the eyes

I forgot how much I used to love this mask so much when I was in high school until I repurchase it from Althea. ( Althea purchase haul here ) This has now been a staple in my skincare routine. I use this mask whenever I want to have that brighter and healthier skin look before I go out. Keep on reading to know why!

The first thing to notice when you put this on is definitely the scent. It has this really soft smell, kinda like baby product smell that I really like. I think the name itself is self-explanatory. Just like any other wash off mask, you put this on for 10-15 minutes, and wash it off with lukewarm water.

The mask does not dry when you leave it on even for long, so I never leave it on any more than 15 minutes. I find it very moisturizing that sometimes it can over-moisturize my skin causing it to become a little oily if I leave it for too long. But the oiliness goes away when you wash it off though, so it's not a big deal.

The texture and consistency of this mask is interesting. It's creamy and light with bits of tiny particles that are really soft and gentle on the skin. I usually wet my hands with a little water and massage my face with the mask on before washing it off completely and the tiny particles help to give mild exfoliation on the skin to get rid of the dead skin cells.

Once rinsed, I notice that my skin is suuuper smooth, which makes application of make up is a breeze. There is also noticeable brightness, but it's not permanent. This makes me curious about other Skin Food masks available, especially the Brown Sugar mask. That one is super hyped by their users.

Overall I do love this mask a lot. It retails for RM45 but I got it for only RM26 from Althea. For 100g of product, this does last me quite a long time. I wish it did came with a spatula though. Quite unhygienic to dip our fingers in the tub every time we want to use it.

Pros :

  • Good scent
  • Brightens and smoothens the skin
  • Moisturizing
  • Gives mild exfoliation
  • Affordable
Cons :
  • Does not come with a spatula

Hello girls! If you do not know yet, BFF (previously known as Muffin Beauty) is a beauty community that allows beauty lovers like us to search or write our own reviews about beauty products on their website. From drugstore to high end, you name it. Just type in the product that you are curious about and a list of reviews from other members will come out. Ever since they upgraded to BFF, the website provides tons of articles covering female topics beside beauty reviews. It's like an online magazine!

As an appreciation they sent out mystery gift box filled with beauty stuff last December to all of their members. Unfortunately I was a little behind to get the package on hand because I forgot to update my new address on the website. It was sent to Bintulu where I used to study but I manage to get my friend to help me post it to me here. So thanks to BFF and my best friend! haha, see what I did there?

1. Neesya Illuminating Essence

A local skincare product! I was so excited to see this inside the package because I was actually looking for something that can help with my acne scars and hyperpigmentation. The Neesya Illuminating Essence promises to boost skin luminosity, giving the appearance of translucent skin as it brightens the skin. It is packed with active ingredients that can help a lot in brightening so hopefully it is going to help with my current skin problem. I have actually used this for couple days and so far I am liking it. Will do a review soon.

2. Silkygirl Magic BB White Powder Foundation

The only makeup product in this package, mine comes in 03 Medium, which is actually the perfect shade for me. I remember that they do ask you to pick your skin shade when you sign up on the website, so I am guessing that they send you products according to your profile and your skin types, which is great! I do enjoy using this powder foundation. It delivers nice coverage and love the fact that it contains SPF 30 PA ++

3. Bioderma

This water based makeup remover is very very popular among Youtubers. People just swear by this stuff. It just came in Malaysia last year if I am not mistaken. I did thinking about trying it but I never did buy it, probably because it is a little pricey for a makeup remover, plus there are other drugstore options out there like the Simple Micellar Water, which is basically a same thing if not a dupe. So I am really happy that I finally get to try this product now. Will let you guys know if I love it.

4. Charmzone Albatross Waterfull CC Cream + Powder Sun + Charmzone Ginko Natural Cleanser

Honestly I've never heard about this brand before but after doing some research I find out that these products do get quite high ratings from their users. The word 'powder sun' made me really curious, turns out it is actually a sun screen lol! I usually keep these kind of samples specially for travelling. It's nice to bring small packets lie this compared to a whole tube of face cleanser.

If you haven't check BFF website yet, you better now! Click here :)
