Iman Ridzuan

Before I begin, it is better to firstly inform to my international readers that I am based in Malaysia so these websites that I am going to talk about are not all available across the globe. There are a few of them that do ship across Asia and one that ships internationally so, if you're keen to know, keep on reading!

As much as I love going out for shopping and window shopping, I, as a normal human being, have my own idle moment of not wanting to get out of the house. When that moment hits me, online shopping would be the answer! And let me tell you, I do shop online A LOT. It's just easier! Compared to going out shopping for the whole day at the mall, being at home you really don't have to worry about petrol, toll and parking fees, your lunch is prepared with your mum, which is the best, and of course, your feet won't end up getting hurt in those heels for walking the whole day. Your boyfriend will thank you to as he doesn't need to help to carry your stuffs, haha! just kidding.

Online shops nowadays are providing better services I would say. You can get coupon codes for better discounts, free returns if you have problems with your orders, cash on delivery service, and so much more! Now I will not call myself as a perfectionist, but when I do shop online, I am very particular about the littlest details like prices, shipping fees and discount codes. I make sure to get the best deals possible. After so many years of my online shopping experiences, here I will present to you my top 5 favorite online shops where I mostly get especially beauty products from.

1. Sephora

Of course I'll put this as my number one! Yes, you can shop sephora online. So don't worry if you can't find that Mario Badescu Aloe Soothing Mist that you've been looking for since forever. I totally understand that mist is always sold out in their physical stores. Ugh. But fret not, they always have it in their online store! I often buy mostly skincare products here. I wouldn't recommend purchasing makeup palettes, or palettes in general because I did that twice and there are two palettes that came a little bit cracked and broken, even though they bubble wrapped everything securely.

What you should know is, even though the link says Sephora Malaysia, but orders taken here are actually shipped from Singapore's Sephora warehouse Therefore, you can find so many other beauty brands that are not available in Malaysian Sephora physical stores in this website like Blithe and MILK. However, because the products are shipped from Singapore, it will take about a week or longer for it to arrive to your doorstep so do take note! You can choose free sample when purchasing certain amount, one of the reasons why I prefer to shop at Sephora online. Free shipping is provided for orders above RM80.

2. Althea

While Sephora sells me western beauty products, Althea sells me korean beauty products. I love them so much, and to me, Althea provides the best and lowest price out of any other merchants that I know. Previously, free shipping is provided for orders above RM120, but I guess due to demands and competitions, they now provide free shipping when you buy two products and above. That's so much better! And when I say inexpensive, I really mean it.

Take and example for Mamonde toner that I bought just a few days ago here. They're selling it for RM85 in Sephora and Hermo, but just RM56 at Althea. And don't worry! Althea is certified and sells only original products. You can use my link below to get 20% off with minimum purchase of RM150. The best part is, they can do shipping across the globe. So don't worry my international readers. I'm sure you're going to love this store as much as I do!

3. Hermo

This website is very famous among us Malaysians, right? Despite being a little bit more expensive than Althea for some of their Korean products, they do have a wider selection of brands and products. They also sells local and western products as well at cheaper prices than in physical stores. They often carry promotions and deals like bundle purchase discounts and weekend sale. I usually purchase my korean products that are not available in Althea such as Cosrx. Free delivery in West Malaysia is available if you purchased two items or more, while more than RM150 for East Malaysia. Currently they only ships products throughout Malaysia. Delivery time is slightly faster than Althea.

4. Zalora

Now we're done on beauty stuff, let's go to my favourite online fashion store. I love this site especially during Eid Celebration because they will give discounts that makes purchasing clothes a bargain! Sometimes you can apply coupon code on discounted items so that is a discount on top of a discount, whoa. Last raya, I bought two kurungs for less than RM200. The designs of their products are not typical and they have good quality too. Zalora provides free 30 days return and free delivery for purchases above RM75. Cash On Delivery is available as well. You can find traditional wear, sports wear, premium clothing and much more. Currently Zalora ships to whole Malaysia and Brunei.

5. Shopee

I am saving the best for the last! This is my ultimate favorite shopping website ever. You can literally find everything, EVERY SINGLE THING from this website. From electronics, baby stuffs, fashion, and even groceries! And the best part is, they are selling them at an incredibly cheap prices. Sometimes their prices are amazingly cheap it makes you wonder if they actually earn anything from selling it lol. I have purchased numerous stuffs (more than 10 times) from this site and I have absolutely no problem with my orders at all. You can track your orders directly from the site.

My personal experience of shopping here so far has been nothing but smooth. Some of the stuff will be shipped from overseas therefore it will take longer to arrive so make sure that you look at the shipping details. Other than Malaysia, Shopee is also available in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam and Philippines.

Click here to visit Shopee!

Apart from having good services with affordable prices, most of the stores that I talked about shared one thing in common, and it is that the fact that I can save more while shopping at these stores. You wanna know how I do it? Follow this link here!

If unicorns were real, this place is probably where they would live.

When I first arrived, my heart already fluttered seeing this adorable pink teepee in front of the cafe. As you can see in the picture, they prepared unicorn kigurumis (costumes) and shoes that you can choose to take pictures for free! It really feels like entering into another world with that costume on. I knew about this cafe from my favorite Australian youtuber, Wengie who just released her own music video titled Cake. They filmed a few scenes in this cafe and it looked super pretty and cute that I just had to come here myself. Check out the music video here!

The baby pink walls with unicorn plushies all over the cafe makes me too happy for words. I've never felt as happy with any other cafes. Pink is one of my most favorite colors, and being in this cafe made me feel super relax. Cakes are portrayed through this golden glass window. This cafe focuses on desserts only, so I would highly recommend coming here for Hi-Tea.

Me with my favorite unicorn in the cafe.

As seen in the music video, this is exactly where Wengie sits woohoo! This cafe is now famous for this pink balls pit. It's like a ball pit, for adults. Definitely instagram worthy! You do have to rebut this tub if there are kids in the cafe though, because they would conquer this area for sure hahahaha. I mean, I won't blame them! I felt like a little kid too when I entered this pit hahahha.

Initially, I wanted to get a different dessert, but the waiter told us that it is their artisan's day off that day and it seems that he was the only one in duty at that moment, which is weird. So he can only prepare me this waffle with ice cream on top and their lattes. I don't mind though, since it is still delicious as in picture. The only complain about the waffle is the ice cream part for me. I think it tastes just like the ordinary ice creams that you buy from usual ice cream stalls here in Malaysia that you can get for RM2 per cone. You know, those stalls that sell ice cream, waffles, and corn in cups? Yea, it has the same artificial taste.

I got pink latte for myself because it is pink, no judgement please, haha! Well, it tastes just like strawberry milk. The interesting part is that in this cafe, you can create your own latte art. They gave you a jar of microfoam and you can basically design your own pattern under waiter's guide. But like I said, because the waiter was the only one on duty at that time, he was very busy handling everything alone so I did not want to bother him. That's why I don't have any pattern on my latte lol, I don't have any experience to do it!

The unicorn cake, my boyfriend got me as a surprised because he saw me looking and adoring it lol...I really didn't want to order it because it is a little bit expensive. It was selling at RM26 if I am not mistaken. It was pretty dry though as a sponge cake. The waffle was RM16, and my pink latte was RM10. My boyfriend got a hot chocolate but I forgot to take the picture hehe sorry.

Peek a boo!

Overall, it was a great experience. Not so much with the foods, I would give their foods 3/5. But for the environment and everything else, definitely a perfect 5!

When I think of Bath & Body Works, I think of smelling good. The Tahiti Island Dream is one of their signature collection and it comes with this body scrub, body lotion, body cream, shower gel, and fragrance mist. I can't remember how much did I purchase it for, so I did some researches. According to lipstiq.com, it is RM80 ($16.50 on the B&BW website) for the scrub.

First and foremost, let me tell you how amazing this thing smells. It is a white sand body scrub that is formulated with beautiful ingredients like fresh coconut water, kiwi blossom, and Tahitian Vanilla Musk. The vanilla scent is the most incredibly significant! I can smell it on my body all day long after rinsing.

The white sand act as a great exfoliator. It feels like scrubbing with sugar all over your body, except that it doesn't melt like sugar does, which is great. It definitely helps to make my skin feels super soft and smooth.

If you look closely, you will see pearl-like flexes inside this scrub. When it hits the light, the scrub reflex so beautifully, almost like a luminescent holographic shade. I love it so much! And I kid you not, some of the pearly flexes will stay on your skin after rinsing, so it sort of gives a glow on your skin. But it is not very obvious unless you look really up close. I can't catch it on camera, so that's a bummer. I wish I can show you how beautiful the flexes reflect.

Repurchase? Maybe! But I am keen to try out the other collections first.

This cafe serves foods like no other. I went here this evening and felt like I just need to make a blog post about it. So here it is! My first cafe review.

Owl Espresso is located in Subang Jaya and is very famous for their wide variety selection of desserts, especially their Bingsoos, which are basically Korean shaved ice desserts. I came here only to try out the cute Cotton Candy Bingsoo. Yep, get ready for extreme cuteness!

Bubu the pink cotton candy with watermelon bingsu. I chose the regular size (RM28) which is enough for 2-3 people. The large one is selling for RM50. (price is slightly different for each type of bingsoos) You can tear the cotton candy or just lift it up to get the bingsoo. Give it to me of course I'll tear it lah hahahahaha.

If you're familiar with Hanbing's Bingsoo, Owl Espresso's shaved iced tastes pretty similar. They have the same milky taste and texture wise is very smooth compared to our Malaysian ABC haha. Very delicious. Bubu himself just tastes like normal cotton candy.

Self service for free plain water

There are so many choices but another two that are famous is Panda cotton candy and Crystal Bingsu. You have to check out their instagram for the pictures. The Crystal Bingsu is stunning. No shame, I must admit that the only reason I picked Bubu is because my current instagram theme is pink HAHA. No regret though because he is super fluffy and adorable, plus watermelon is my favourite fruit!

This cafe displays relaxing environment with black walls and dim lights. They also provide outdoor seating area for smokers and vapers, so just bring along your friends!

They also serves other desserts like waffles, cakes, toasts and heavy meals like Pastas, Kimchi Fried Rice and Cordon Bleu Chicken. I can't comment much about the foods as we only got to try the Bubu Bingsu, but judging from that alone, it is definitely worth it. Would love to come back!

Do you have skincare products that doesn't do you any good and you just don't know what to do with them? Don't throw them away just yet! Read on to know what other stuffs you can do with it to not waste your money :)

1. Cleansers

Often times when I have cleanser that doesn't work for me, I just use them to wash my makeup brushes. They work wonders, especially foam cleansers! Don't worry, if it is gentle enough for your skin, it should be gentle enough for your makeup bristles. Other than foaming cleansers, you can also use micellar water if you have one that you don't really like.

2. Toner

Toner is great to remove excess makeup and dirt, right? If you have one that you don't like, dries your skin or breaks you out, use it to wipe your lips, back of neck and the back of your ears. Those areas need some loves too. You will be amazed to see the dirt that is collected on your cotton pad, yikes! hahaha.

If you have watery toners that contain alcohol, you can even use it to clean surfaces like your phone screen and wrist watch.

3. Exfoliator

Sometimes we accidentally buy scrubs that are too rough for our sensitive skin, and they end up breaking us out. You can definitely use them to prep your skin before shaving or waxing your body. Exfoliating is an important step before you wax to ensure cleaner and easier waxing because you're basically removing the dead skin cells layering on your skin. Therefore you'll have closer shave and waxing. Yeah, that St. Ives Apricot Scrub that everyone warns you about? Just use it to scrub areas like your underarms, arms and legs before hair removal!

4. Moisturizer

If you're like me and a lot of moisturizers seem to break you out, use it as a hand or body lotion instead. So don't waste your money on another hand lotion! Just export your moisturizer into a squeeze travel bottle and pop it in your handbag. It is a plus if that moisturizer contains SPF.

Apart from that, you can also use any creams, be it hand cream or face cream that doesn't work for you or expired as leather conditioner. Yep, just slather them on your leather handbags or sofas using cotton cloth, and they will look as good as new!

5. Oil Serum

Not everyone can get the benefits of using oils as part of our skincare routine, especially in this hot and humid weather in Malaysia. Argan oil, coconut oil, olive oil, you name it. Despite all the great things that I heard about them, they just break me out. So instead of using it for the face, I used the remaining oils to hydrates my nail cuticles and hair ends. Use it every night before bed, and you will realize changes in less than a month of how healthier they look.

6. Lip Balm

I'm sure you don't own just one single lip balm, right? Well, at least most of us have multiples, but we only use the ones that we love. And the less loved one is just left unused and untouched lol. Don't worry tho! You can actually make use of it to avoid blisters. A lot of lip balms contain beeswax in it, and you can just slather some into your shoes on the areas that always gives you blisters like the heels. It will help to lessen the friction between your feet and the shoes. Just reapply as needed.

When all else fails, you can always sell them at Carousell! Just make sure that your products are not expired and the amount is legit to be resold as preloved item lol. And always make sure to sanitize everything before you ship them out. I do sell some of my skincare and makeup items that are unused or preloved, you can check them out here : https://my.carousell.com/imanridzuan

Disclaimer : Pictures are used for illustration purpose only, they are not products that don't actually work for me. In fact, I love each and every one of them dearly as my beauty routine!

First of all, I deeply apologize about the long hiatus. My laptop broke down, and most of the content that I wanted to post were in the laptop. Oh well, life moves on! I got a new laptop now, thank you dad!

My skin concern now is all about dullness because I have to walk under the scorching hot sun every day to class, so I am currently just trying out few brightening products. I came across this one online one day and it intrigued me. I got mine from, you guessed it. Althea :) It costed me RM52. They changed the packaging though, it is a lot simpler now. I actually prefer this old packaging a lot better.

New packaging, ew boring. hahahaha

Anyway! It is the product itself that we should focus on. This product came with a dropper, which I really love, since it is a lot easier to control the amount that you need versus other essence products with pour bottle method. The essence itself is watery, but thick. It is not sticky thick, it is watery thick, can you picture it? hahaha. It is thick but easily absorbs into the skin after a few pats and slaps.

With the help of Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide, this product helps to hydrate and brighten the skin respectively. Hyaluronic Acid is not a foreign product when it comes to moisturizing skincare, I am pretty sure that most of us here have heard of it. It became so popular since Hada Labo starts promoting it, as far as I can remember. Niacinamide on the other hand, has gotten popular around the last 2 years in this beauty community. If you're familiar with the brand The Ordinary, their Niacinamide serum is so popular that it has become the bestselling product for that brand. So when I found out that this essence have 5% of niacinamide, I wasn't hesitate to try it at all. I knew it will be a good stuff lol.

And I was right! It definitely helps to fade my scars completely. I do not have old scars to begin with, but it brightens my new scar and make them completely disappear after a good month of use. You may think a month is actually a long period, but a gentle skincare like this for sure will take longer time than the ones with harsh chemicals. So a month to me is really good actually. It helps a little bit to brighten my overall complexion, but not to the point where it change my skin tone or anything.

The hyaluronic Acid definitely helps with the moisturizing part as well. However, I find my skin to be oily if I use the whole dropper pump. Therefore I prefer to use this product specifically before bed and I will wake up with supple and dewy skin in the morning.

I do love this essence a lot! Unfortunately, I find that it breaks me out if I use it together with water based moisturizer. I guess this essence is oil based, so it won't mix well with any other water based products. It works just fine and amazing if I use oil based moisturizer afterwards. Other than that, no complaint and highly recommended! :D
