Is there such thing as 'too much of highlight'? With all of the obsessions over highlighters in 2016 towards 2017, pretty sure the answer to that question to a lot of people is heck No. But for me, yes. There is such thing as too much of a highlighter, but it's just personal preferences aite.

But that does not mean I don't enjoy blinding people with my highlight. I LOVE TO. LOL. To me, if it's not blinding, it is not worth it. Unless you purposely buying one for a natural makeup look, then maybe, it's gonna be worth it. Buuuut, if you're looking one that is really gonna kill it in terms of the price and quality, this is what I will usually suggest to people. Most of the time, this is where my confidence comes from when my face hit the light, no exaggeration.

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer is a gold highlighter, which suits people with deeper skin tones the most. I would say that my complexion is more towards the medium shade, so this thing complements my skin perfectly. I have tried several pearly highlighters and didn't really enjoy them. I personally think that warm colors suit me the best, hence why I love this highlighter so much, colorwise.

First, let's talk about the packaging. I really appreciate the fact that it comes with a good size mirror because I don't have to bring a pocket mirror anymore whenever I take this along with me for touch ups. Comes with 8.5g of product, it is packaged slim without any bulkiness, so I can save a lot of space in my makeup pouch. Hate bulky makeup packagings. Love the vintage print, just like any other The Balm products, they nailed it.

The pigmentation tho, gurlllllllll, it is insane! Insanely good. Like, perfectly insanely good. Literally just one swipe onto the product with my brush, one swipe to the cheek and it gets the job of blinding done. It just makes you glow. It is not a glittery highlight, which is a huge thumbs up. It is shimmery, but not to the point where it looks chunky because the texture is finely mild, like a soft almost creamy powder. You can definitely build up the intensity if you want to. I use it on my cheeks, browbones, nose, forehead, well.. pretty much all over my face yet it still looks dang prettay without being too much.

Blended, see how it catches the light!

The only downside to this highlighter to me is that it is so fragile and brittle. Just don't travel with it. My heart breaks seeing this thing shattered, but I fixed it! Hence why it looks a bit uneven on the pan if you see the second picture. Comment below if you want me to do a tutorial on how to fix broken powder makeups.

It did lasts all day long for me, I don't have to worry about touching up unless if I have to remove it for prayers of course. Overall, I am totally satisfied and would recommend it to everybody who's seeking for a highlighter that won't disappoint you, at all. Two thumbs up!

Finally! This is a long overdue review because I have purchased this bb cream somewhen in last year lol. Better late than never, I guess I just have a lot of foundations to go through each day so I kinda forgot to do a review on this one lol. This is the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream that was once a hit in the rise of BB Cream era.

Other than online shops, I am not sure where else can you get your hands on this bb cream if you're living in Malaysia. I personally got mine from Althea. The color selection there is poor though, which is only 2 shades. The one that I bought is in the shade No. 23 Natural Beige.

Just like other BB Creams, this comes with more than just one benefits. The Missha  Perfect Cover BB Cream claims to be high coverage to cover up dark spots and anti aging. This BB Cream is formulated with SPF 42, which is a great number for a makeup product. Not saying that you can skip sunscreen altogether, but it is great amount if you're in a hurry.

What I really love about this BB cream is the fact that it comes with a pump. Very clever! Though I heard some people are having problems with the pump disposing inconsistent amount of product, I personally never experience that problem at all. The cap attached makes travelling so much easier because it protects the pump in my bag.

I find that the formulation of this BB cream to be beautiful as it blends onto my skin very easily. The consistency is thicker than most of other bb creams in the market so I like to use a wet makeup sponge to apply it rather than using a brush because it can get streaky being applied with a brush.

It is definitely high coverage. I personally like a more natural look so I only use half a pump for my whole face. Believe me with this guy, a little bit goes a very long way. Definitely build it up little by little instead of slathering a whole pump onto your face and regretting the heavy look, lol. Shade wise, as you can see it applies a little grey on the back of my hand at first. But once you blend it in and let it sit and set on your skin, the color will match your skin tone perfectly. I was so afraid when I applied it the first time because I thought it made me look ghostly. But just give it a few minutes to set, now I am obsessed haha. It doesn't break me out at all.

I have a combination skin, so it is normal for any foundation to be a little oily on my T-Zone after a while. This BB Cream lasts about 4 hours on my face before it kinda melts with my natural oil. But it's not a disaster, a little bit of blotting should do it, and a good primer with setting spray will do a great job at holding it. Definitely recommended!

Pros :

  • High Coverage
  • High SPF
  • Lasts pretty well
  • Doesn't clog the pores
Cons :
  • Nothing. I love this stuff.

When you decided that you want to buy lipstick to be added into your collection, and you’re aiming for the usual type, think again, take a step back and get a matte lipstick instead. Matte lipsticks are taking the beauty world by storm for its wearability which is said to be way better than usual lipsticks. Be it whether it comes in the usual solid form, or liquid, the matte finish gives off a modern vibe to the finished makeup look. Plus, they also come in variety shades that normal lipstick don’t usually have. So you're saying that you're new to matte lipsticks and you’re not sure which shade to get? Don’t worry! This handy guide will help you get through your new love for matte lipstick.

Red

The most obvious choice is of course, the classic red. But why bother getting a red matte lipstick when you already have so many reds in your collection? The formulation difference between a matte lipstick and normal lipsticks is on the longevity. A very good quality matte lipstick can help you survive through your dinner date because it is basically lasts a lot longer, even after a meal! Imagine when you already applied your red lipstick on, it boosted up your confidence and suddenly after a meal or drink when you check back on your lips in the mirror, you get this horrible situation where your lip colour disappears on the inner rim of your lips. Ew! Everyone's fear. The colour red itself comes in different intensity meaning you can wear it as light as possible or as deep as possible. You can wear it lighter for that barely there look or thick for an obvious sexy pout.

I recommend :

1. BBIA - Last Lipstick 01 Provocative (Matte)

2. Maybelline Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Lipstick [#1 Scarlet Red]

Brown/Nude

Sometimes it is hard to find any nude or brown shade with normal lipstick formula that will stay long enough for it to look pretty on you. When it comes to matte lipstick though, its formula sets onto your lips directly and doesn’t budge unless you eat something oily. Nude matte lipsticks are my go to lip colours for everyday wear or when I want that no makeup makeup look. Brown shades are getting more popular in the market since Kylie Jenner releases her own matte liquid lipsticks. People have been testing and finding out different brands and colors of matte lipsticks to dupe hers. So if you don't have any matte browns or nudes in your collection yet, I would say it's a must have!

I recommend:

1. SimplySiti Lipstick LC 07 SE Absolute Matte Nirmala

2. Farmasi Colour CosmeticsMatte Lipstick 27 (Hot Tahiti)

Purple

Don’t be scared away! It may be too brave for some people but there are definitely awesome variations in matte lipstick version of the colour purple that’s great for everyone. Certain shades are very wearable on daily basis actually. You don’t have to buy the real purple. It can be something that’s more like wine red, burgundy or mauve. These are neutral purples that look amazing on any skin tone.

I recommend :

1. Farmasi Colour Cosmetics Matte Lipstick 28 (Violetta In Plum)

2. MEMEBOX Punky Hoy Matt Lipstick #01 Mannish Red

Tips and Tricks On Using Matte Lipsticks

1. Scrub

Make sure you exfoliate or scrub your lips because matte lipstick looks ten times better on smooth lips. If you have dry chapped lips, you gotta treat it first. The last thing you want is your dead skin cells on to clumps with the liquid lipsticks applied. Yikes!

 2. Moisturize

Always moisturize and hydrate yourself and your lips. This is important because sometimes the matte lipsticks could be settling into the lines of our lips if you don't moisturize them beforehand. You will notice that the matte lipsticks will glide on better upon application on smooth and plumped lips. So just use your favourite lip balm before applying you matte lipsticks!

3. Be Quick
Other than that, be quick when applying because some matte lipsticks dry faster. So it can get tricky to build up the intensity once it is dried and set. Also, avoid smacking your lips together like you usually do after applying normal lipstick because it can cause unevenness to the color applied.

So there you go, super easy and I hope you enjoy your matte lipstick journey soon!

1. Biore Mild Cleansing Liquid

I love this cleansing liquid so much! It literally melts down all of my face, eye and lip makeup in an instance. It is so affordable too. I have posted a review on this product here if you would love to know more about it. Currently I am using Senka Perfect Watery Oil which costs slightly higher this one Biore but works just as wonders. So I am going to repurchase, maybe I will go for the Biore one. Comment down below if you want me to do a comparison post on both of them!

2. Organic Aid Moisturizing Cream

Such a basic and simple moisturizer. My skin loves this moisturizer because it did not break me out whatsoever. A lot of the times, I have to be very careful with my sensitive skin because it tends to break out whenever I try new products but this cream works good for me. If you are looking for something moisturizing without any other additional irritants like fragrance or brightening agents, this might be the one for you. I remembered loving this so much during my high school years because it helped me to get rid of my chicken pox scars after prolonged use.

3. Safi Balqis White Trilogy Toner

I used to loveee the older version of this toner so much. But since they reformulated it, seems like it did nothing for my skin except removing the excess dirt on my face after cleansing. But other than that, it is just a basic toner. Will not repurchase

4. Eucerin Dermo Purifyer Toner

Another toner and I am obsessed. It was recommended to me by my friend Jenny. ( Thank you gal!) This toner claims to clear the skin and help to prevent blemishes. I think the second claim is so true. I rarely get any pimples after I start using this bae right here expect for that one pimple during that time of the month. And when I do, this toner helps to shrink my pimple completely within like 3 days. You may think that 3 days is very long to you. But I am someone who prefers to not touch my acne at all, not even spot treating it because often times it will lead to scarring issues. So when I was not using this toner and an acne pops out, It will usually take more than a week for it to completely disappear. I am testing out Son & Park Beauty Water right now as my toner but I would love to repurchase this bae again next time.

5. Good Virtues Co. Helpful & Delightful Multiple Repair Hair Serum

Not a skincare but I thought I would just include it in. I did enjoy using this serum but I probably wouldn't repurchase. Simply because it is so thick so it takes a little bit of time to completely be absorbed into my hair and leaving me with greasy hands. But other than that, loved the earthy smells and the effect that it gives to my hair which are soft and smooth.
