Iman Ridzuan

It has been very long since I purchased an eyeliner pencil simply because I prefer using liquid and gel eyeliners. Reason being is because it is really hard to find a pencil liner that wont smudge on my oily eyelids. The Guardian at my place did a promotion on some of the Lakme makeup products last week and I took this chance to give it a shot since these kajals were on Buy 1 Free 1 promotion. The normal price is RM19.90 each.

I believe it comes in six colours which are Black, White, Grey, Brown, Blue and Green.  I got two of them to try out which are Brown and White. They claim to be smudge proof, waterproof and last up to 10 hours on the eyes.

These are retractable eyeliners and I did measured total product inside is about 3.5cm long, which is pretty standard I suppose? Upon swatches I find that the product is very smooth and very easy to work with. It is highly pigmented and glides on very easily. I do find that the white one is a lot creamier than the brown one and it has very fine shimmers in it which is perfect if you want to use it as highlighter on the tear ducts.

These eyeliners doesn't budge when I put it under running water. But I had these on once and when I went to wash my face with just using water, it did disappear. Then I did the rub test and the eyeliner did budge but it takes quite a force to rub it until it smudges as in the picture above. I did wait a couple minutes for it to set before doing the test. So I would say be careful not to rub your eyes too hard when having these on. The brown one do seems to stay better than the white one though. I haven't had the chance to try this on for 10 hours but I did had it on for 6 hours straight and I am so happy with the staying power because it didn't smudge on my oily eyelids at all! Which is very rare for me so now I am kinda regretting not buying all the colors available during the promotion.

This is actually my first time trying out Lakme product so now I am curious about the other products that they carry. I heard that the mascara from the same line is great too. For the price, it is really worth it. Lakme products are available at Guardian stores. I highly recommend these kajals!

Pros :
  • Glides on easily
  • Highly pigmented
  • Smooth and creamy
  • Affordable
  • Good staying power
Cons :
  • Not really waterproof

Will definitely repurchase and purchase the other colors available!

Hello lovelies!
With Malaysia's weather that is so scorching hot right now, SPF and hydration are two main things in my top list when it comes to skincare. I have been driving more frequently to classes for the last month that I realized my hands has became dry, dark and dull. Yikes. I am not really a person who carries around a hand lotion in her handbag so that was my bad. So I headed down to my closest Watsons to look for a good lotion with SPF to protect my skin.

I bought this one because first, I need something lightening as I realized that my skin has gotten pretty sunburned. And of course, I also need something that has SPF in it to further protect my skin. So when I saw this one on the shelf, it was actually on sale plus it came with a free tube in a smaller size so it was perfect for me to carry it in my purse. Normal price would be around RM24-26. Quite affordable for 320ml worth of product.

So this body serum claims to instantly help make skin fairer and repair 10 signs of damaged and dull skin which are

1. Accumulated dull damaged skin from sun
2. Naturally dull skin tone
3. Uneven skin tone
4. Dark spots
5. Rough skin
6. Scratched dry skin
7. Flaky dry skin
8. Cracked skin
9. Unsmooth skin
10. Stressed skin

The consistency of this product is thinner than a regular body lotion. It is called a body serum after all. I have never tried any other body serums before so I can't do any comparisons. The scent is pretty pleasant,a little bit citrus-y I would say but not too overwhelming. It lingers on the skin but not for too long so don't worry if its going to interrupt the smell of your perfume.

Once rubbed in, it leaves my skin looking a little glowy. Unfortunately I do not find this body serum to be hydrating enough for my dry skin. And it takes forever to rub this into my skin!  I thought as a 'serum' it is going to be easier and faster to absorb into the skin, but no. If I don't have much time to get ready in the morning I would just skip this from my morning routine because it will waste my time lol. A little bit of this goes a really long way so that's good for the pocket. I have been using it religiously for a about a month and there is still a lot of product left. It doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky, but the thing has been bothering me is that even after like 4-5 hours of applying this lotion, when I go wash my hands or legs I can still feel the product being washed, you know that kind of slippery feeling? So I don't know if it supposed to sit on top of my skin for sun protection or what lol.

It has Q10 and Vitamin C as the active ingredient for brightening and it does brighten my skin a little bit especially on my legs, but the result is not very significant. Maybe I should use it a little longer. My hands are not as dull as before, so that is good to know that it does its job as it claimed to repairing and protecting it from the sun. SPF33 is a good amount. However I cannot use this for other areas on my body because I realised that it has been giving me back acne which I had never get before from using any other lotions. Thankfully they are recovering now as I have stopped using this on my back.

Overall this is a great product if you are looking for something to protect your skin with additional benefits instead of just slathering on regular sunscreen. But I personally wouldn't repurchase as it is not moisturizing enough for my skin and because of the fact that it causes break out on my back. I do not enjoy the application which takes forever too. There are definitely better options but you can try it if you want!

Pros:

  • Contains SPF 33 with UVA1/UVA2/UVB
  • Brightening
  • Affordable
  • Does not leave the skin feeling sticky
Cons :
  • Takes long time to absorb
  • Causes me back acne
Comment below if you have a great body lotion recommendation! :)

I am that person who will only wear mascara if I have my contact lenses on because I just hate the feeling of my lashes touching my spectacles. So uncomfortable. And I only wear fake lashes for special events, so when I do wear mascara on my daily basis, I gotta make sure that they make my lashes look perfect! This is one of the drugstore mascaras that I have been eyeing on for quite a while because I have heard good things about it from bloggers and youtubers.

The size of the wand is a little not too fat for my but I find it a little bit hard to work for my bottom lashes and the lashes around the inner corner. If I am not careful enough the product definitely will transfer to my eyelids. But the bristles are not too packed, they are quite sparse apart, so it is easy to coat each and every one of your lashes. You can't really see it from this image (oh man I really need to invest on a better camera) but there are actually two types of bristles; long and short.

I got mine in 001 Blackest Black from Guardian for RM30++ when it was on sale. I believe mine is not the waterproof formula, because I can't find anything that says waterproof from the packaging. The formulation of this mascara is a little bit on the drier side, which I love! I don't really like wet mascara because I just hate the feeling of my lashes sticking with each other. The faster it dries on my lashes, the better.

First coat

Second coat

So as you can see from the application above, the first and second coat of the mascara doesn't really have that much of difference except that it makes my lashes look thicker and a bit more voluminous? The mascara do promises on the volumizing and lengthening department and I do think that it delivers the promise. But I really wished that it would help to curl my lashes more considering that I have straight down lashes. I did not use a lash curler for this review, but when I do, I realize that it does not help to hold the curl long enough. At the end of the day my lashes will start drooping down again lol. But it does not smudge on me so that it a plus point!

Don't get me wrong though, overall I do think this is a great mascara, but it is just not my favourite. My sister on the other hand loooove it so much that she went out and bought her own tube after she tried mine on her lashes.

Pros :

  • Volumizing and Lengthening
  • Buildable
  • Affordable
Cons :
  • Doesn't give much curl to the lashes
Rate : 4 / 5
