Iman Ridzuan

I am just gonna assume that everybody here knows Colorpop, I’m pretty sure I don’t have to explain anymore about this brand. I mean, if you don’t..you’re missing out. BIG TIME.

So I decided to make an online purchase from their website. If you don’t know yet, they ship to Malaysia for free with a minimum purchase of 50 dollars. That would be around RM205+ at the current currency change. So gather your friends and sisters and make an order now! I decided to try out some of their lip products, and this highlighter. For their super affordable price, I am pretty sure nothing can go wrong, especially with all the hypes that they have been getting all over the internet.

I decided to get only one highlighter only so it was really a though decision to make because they got a variety of shades. After hundreds of reviews and swatches online, I went for Lunch Money, which is a beautiful pearlized golden yellow shade, suits for my warm complexion. And it's only for 8$ = RM 33

It comes in this cute round pot with gram of product. Similar with the eyeshadows, the texture is very interesting. It feels a little wet, sort of creamy wet, but it dries down powdery just like a normal highlighter. I have played with it a lot and I would say that the best applicator for this highlighter is, your finger. I feel like the warmth from your finger actually helps to really blend the highlight into the skin, versus using a brush or sponge which can appear patchy at times.

I love it on its own for a simple makeup look when I don’t want too much of makeup but still want to have that healthy glow. It’s beautiful in person, but won’t appear as much on camera. But if you wear this underneath a powder highlight, wooh! Your cheeks will be poppin'!

I really have no single complain about this baby. Obviously, I have hit pan before remembering to do a review on it. It’s cheap for the amount you’re getting, it’s beautiful, and lasts very long on the skin, what else could you ask for?! But then again, if you are not fancy for a subtle highlighter, you can try out my ultimate favourite, the Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm. Now that, will never disappoint you.

Most of us have been dealing with acne since teenage years, and we have been told about tonnes of remedies to treat them. But, prevention is always better than cure. There are a lot of things in our life that we thought could never be the cause of our acne, so I would suggest you all to think again. If you are suffering from acne that never goes away no matter what you do, Thank Your Skin have listed 92 things that could be triggering them.

Below are the major topics of acne triggers, for more details, check out the original article here.

1. Diet

Thank Your Skin have a list of all the foods that contribute to acne and that includes spicy foods, dairy products and soda. Your diet plays an important roll of your overall health and beauty. What you put inside your body is going to show up on the outside. Positively or negatively, that will depend on you. So eat a balanced diet and cut out the bad stuff!

2. Skincare

It is very important to choose skincare according to your skin type. Yet, certain products that are good on others may have a reverse effect on you. This is because different people have different skin tolerance. So get to know your skin thoroughly and always check the ingredients of your products before buying them just because you're attracted to the claims and advertisements.

3. Medicines

Some people may need to take additional medicines or supplements for their body and little did they know, the ingredients inside the pills could be triggering the acne on your skin. If you're experiencing sudden breakout once you take a prescription, you might want to check again with your doctor to see if you're allergic to them.

4. Makeup

If you're not aware of it yet, yes, your makeup can actually hold a numerous number of bacteria and that will cause you acne. My suggestion is that you should always sanitized your makeup at least once a month. You can do this by spraying the surface of your powder or stick makeup products with diluted alcohol. There's not much you can do with liquid makeup except than dispose them away once they're expired. And I can't stress enough how important it is to clean your makeup brushes regularly.

5. Wardrobe

Very unexpected, right? But actually, this is the truth. Certain materials of your clothing can contribute to acne, especially tight clothing that will make you sweat especially in this humid weather of Malaysia. Coarser materials like your scarf and jeans may irritate your skin if you have a sensitive skin. Lose fitting and breathable clothing are always better.

6. Habits

Bad behaviors such as touching your face is a big NO. If you're guilty of this, you should really try in any way to stop this habit because our hands are touching a lot of things daily, and you really don't want to transfer those nasty germs and bacteria onto your skin. Drinking and smoking are also major culprits to unhealthy skin.

7. Hair

Ever noticed that you get breakouts more on your forehead when you have fringe? This is because our hair can accumulate oils and dirt too. It is unhealthy for your hair to wash them every single day, but that doesn't mean it is also good for your skin. So the solution is, wear a hair clip to get your fringe out of the face at most of time, especially when you're working out.

8. Environment

Let's admit, it is impossible to get a clean fresh air nowadays unless you go on a hiking trip to the mountain top. Our air is so polluted that haze is very common in Malaysia. You have to make sure that you really clean yourself up from all the dust and dirt outside when you're home so that you pores will stay clean and clear.

9. Health

When you get sick, your immune system will go down and this can contribute to much other problems like stress. Hence, your body will be vulnerable to pathogens and bacteria easier, and that can cause breakout. Eat healthy and always work out is the best way to boost up the immune system of your body.

10. Partners and pets

Skin contact will definitely involves some sort of bacteria and germs transfer between you and your partner, or you and your pets. Keep your pets clean and ask your partner to trim their beard so that they won't irritate your sensitive skin.

I have an oily skin, but it's a different story for my hands and legs. They are always so dry especially when I stay too long in an AC room. Thus, a hand cream has always been a must have in my hand bag everywhere I go. I picked this up from Sephora a while back because, I am not gonna lie, the pink packaging. How can anyone resist this, it's so cute!

Soap & Glory is infamous for their scents, it's gonna be weird if they come out with a product that do not smell good. This one in particular,is scented with Rose and Bergamot. Guys, if you ever go to Sephora, just go to the Soap & Glory counter and have a sniff on this product, you're not gonna be disappointed. Rose is my favourite flower and my favourite scent when it comes to fragrances. I always, always buy perfumes that is rose scented.

This hand cream is formulated with shea butter, macadamia oil, and marshmallow.. I know right? A pause moment there, who would have thought to put marshmallow in their lotion, but you know what? WHY NOT! And alongside with that, they also have a lot of other seed oils in their ingredients for the moisturization that you need.

After applied

The texture is very thick, and to be honest I was kind of disappointed as weirdly enough, I thought that the cream inside is going to be pink. But oh well! I guess you should never expect too much? This much of product as in the picture is enough for one arm, at least for me. It is very moisturizing, but the moisture does not last very long on me. It's like, the effect is very temporary. It's not a treating hand cream, where it will make your hand smoother and softer after a certain number of times wearing it. I apply it on my hands every single day, yet I still don't notice any huge difference other than it keeping my hands soft and moisturized for few hours only. In addition, it takes a while to really absorb into the skin, and may leave an oily feeling which isn't my favorite when it comes to hand creams.

Overall, it's good to have in your handbag. But I just can't wait to finish this one up so that I can use other lotions. It's just not something that I would repurchase for my very dry hands, but if your skin is already naturally moisturized and you just want a little something extra to care, this would be perfect. It would make a great gift too for the price! I can't remember the exact price, tried to look up online, can't find it elsewhere than Lazada, but they're selling it for pretty ridiculous price. I'm sure I bought it for less than RM50.

Pros :

  • Affordable
  • You get 125ml of product which is going to last you very long
  • Smells so good
  • Cute packaging
Cons :
  • Leaves a greasy feeling if applied too much
  • Takes a while to absorb
  • Moisture effect is temporal
  • Only available at Sephora

Now I have never tried the thing that this mascara claims to be better at, so I can't compare which one's better HAHA. But I can definitely tell you my opinion solely about this mascara. It is very hard to find a mascara that won't smudge on me. No matter how waterproof they claim to be, at the end of the day, panda eyes will be no stranger for me. So I wasn't expecting much from this as well.

Packaging wise, no complain. It's pink! A tad bigger and heavier than my other mascara tubes, but I love it. It feels a fancier in the grip. When I took the wand out of the tube, my initial reaction was, woah! It's fat.

The wand is densely packed with bristles that makes it very easy to coat each and every single lashes on your eyes. Not gonna lie, the big wand it's a little trickier to get the lower lashes without having some mess but with some practice, you'll get used to it. Now because the wand have so many bristles on it, it takes a lot of product out. Like I mean, A LOT. So I have to scrape off some of the excess at the tube mouth or else it will apply clumpy.

The formula is a little bit on the drier side, but not too dry so I like it. I don't like mascaras that dries up too fast because sometimes I like to do layering, so it'd be hard to layer on mascaras on top of dried mascara.

I prefer not to use an eyelash curler whenever I am shooting for a review, just so that you can see the full affect of the product. You can see that it helps to lift and curl my very straight lashes, so that's good. But the curling effect doesn't last forever. I guess it's just my stubborn lashes though, since I encounter the very same thing with a lot of other mascaras.

Because the wand is is so big, I really don't like it for the bottom lashes. It's really hard to apply especially on the rear ends of my eyes because it's just gonna be messy on the lower lid, and I really don't want to spend time cleaning the mascara bits, which can ruin my makeup under the eyes. But then again, because it is so big, it takes less time to coat the lashes so I like going for this mascara whenever I want to get ready fast. It takes less time to build it up to my liking. It is lengthening, but not too much on volumizing.

Is it waterproof? No, but they do have a waterproof version of this mascara which comes in a green tube so you can check that one out instead if you prefer that. The mascara doesn't smudge on me, so that's good. However, one thing that I do notice is that if I wear this on a super hot and humid day (read : very sweaty) I'll get some mascara residues under the eyes. No smudging, but some flakes.

Overall, I really wanted to love it but I don't really think that this mascara is living up to the hype that it gets. At least for me. I know a lot of girls that swears by it, so you might want to give it a chance because everyone has different eyelashes anyway right? It's still a very good mascara! Just that for me, there are so many other drugstore mascaras that I love way better such as the Maybelline Rocket Volume ( which has been discontinued it makes me so mad. BRING THEM BACK MAYBELLINE PLEASE! ) and Silkygirl's Lash Prism.

Pros :

  • Beautiful packaging
  • Helps curl the lashes
  • Lengthening
  • Doesn't smudge or gives me any sort of panda eyes
  • Coats the lashes fast due to the huge wand
Cons :
  • Will crumble off a little in hot weather
  • Huge wand makes it difficult for bottom lashes
