Iman Ridzuan

If you're into K-Beauty, I bet this product won't be a stranger to you. It has been raved about by sooooo many Korean youtubers, bloggers, and celebrities. This beauty water is doubles up as a cleansing water and a moisturizing toner. So you're really saving a buck.

I love the packaging so much. Very sleek and simple, it makes the product looks a little fancy. Well, it is a little expensive, lol. Thank goodness I got it for free from Althea contest once. Hehe Thank you Althea! I mean, if it were not because of them, I'd never spend myself more than RM100+ for a toner hehe. Not while I am still a student. It comes with 340ml product in a see through screw cap bottle. Though, this toner is packed with beautiful natural ingredients such as rose water, lavender water, coconut, and fruit extract that are very beneficial for the skin. So, ya know you're getting high quality product for such price.

Be careful when pouring this out, as the name suggest, it is very watery, but the opening is quite large. When I first used it I jerk the bottle a little bit, thinking the opener will dispense the product out drop by drop. I ended up with beauty water all over my lap, lol. Learned the lesson! Make sure you tilt the bottle just a little bit and let the liquid to pour out onto your cotton pad.

This beauty water is aweeeesome as a makeup remover. It works just like your ordinary micellar water. It really removes my stubborn waterproof mascara, liquid lipsticks you name it! just one swipe, and viola! But if you're buying this only as a makeup remover is like...why u so extra, haha just go and buy garnier or simple's micellar water lah, works just the same. I personally LOVE this as a toner. After I cleanse my skin, I'll just take this with a cotton pad and wipe it all around my face, neck, behind the neck, and behind the ears. It feels so refreshing, and moisturizing. Since I don't use my clarisonic on my neck, and my cleanser alone is not enough to clean any foundation traces on the neck area, this beauty water will clean the excess makeup there like a breeze.

There's really not much to say about this product, it does the job that a regular moisturizing toner should do. Will I repurchase? Maaaybe. But personally, for my acne prone skin, I'd prefer my Eucerin Dermopurifyer a lot more because that toner is da bomb in preventing acne. This toner is great for cleansing and adding some moisturization to your skin, so it's great for everybody. If you need a little bit of help with acne or pigmentation, try something with a little bit of exfoliation instead such as salicylic acid.

You will recognise this product if you have read my night skincare routine. This is a korean brand moisturizer that promises to brighten and helps with wrinkles. I got mine from Althea, I am not sure if you can get this product in any physical stores here in Malaysia, but you can easily find it online.

Packaging wise, it looks so modern and feels luxurious, I love the color of this jar as it makes it kind of holographic when light hits the dome. For some reasons when I took it out of the box it reminded me of a pokeball lol.

When you open up the lid, there is a separator covering the product, I guess it is to avoid leaking if you want to travel with it. Underneath is the actual product that is going to shook you like it shooked me. They are little pearlssss! OMG. I literally screamed because I was so amazed at how pretty the moisturizer is lol. These little balls or pearls are soaked in essences of goodness. When you move the jar around, little specks of pearlescent glitters are showing. SO. PRETTY.

You're provided with a spatula to scoop out the product, which is super convenient because I really don't want to dip in my fingers inside the essence trying to take a pearl out lol. They suggest to take 3 to 4 pearls per usage, but I always only take one or two at most, at a time, oops. I found one pearl is enough to moisturize my small face.

I crush the pearl onto my palm first and then apply the bits and pieces to my face. The pieces will melt once rub onto the skin, and you'll be left with these magical pearlescent specks all over your face. Just look at my palm. Hence, why I only use it at night time lolol. I am not sure how sparkly it will leave your skin if you use more than two pearls, but if you do use only one, rest assured that it won't actually make you look like a disco ball or anything like that, haha. On your face, it will look like you have this natural healthy glow and dewy skin.

My face always look brighter and plumper when I wake up in the morning. I did use it a few times for day time moisturizer and it does not make me oily or anything. So I'd say it's a great day and night time moisturizer! It's just that I love my Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel more for day time for smoother foundation application.

I do think that it helps to brighten my skin a little bit over time, but I can't really comment about the anti wrinkle claim as I don't have any issue with that yet. Will I repurchase? Maybe, but not anytime soon because prefer a moisturizer that comes in a pump or anything simpler. As much as I do enjoy my skincare routine, I don't really want to spend time disinfecting spatula, scooping and crushing pearls each time I need to apply a moisturizer lol. But overall, it's a great product!

More The Balm reviews! Today I want to talk about two other products that I got from The Balm which are the Nude Tude eyeshadow palette and their Hot Mama Blusher. Let's start with the eyeshadow palette.

This palette consists of 12 variety color selections and comes in a cardboard packaging which I adore because they are less bulky and won't get any dents in case they knock on anything or fell. The Balm products always have this cool vintage designs on them which is so pretty! Retails about RM223 on Sephora online but you can get it sooo much cheaper from SaSa outlets. They sell them for only RM155 last time I check, and sometimes they'll be discounted so you can get it for even less.

The palette comes with a mini dual ended brush that is not very useful, but I appreciate it. The brush and the mirror makes it a travel friendly palette. You'll get a nice variety of neutral shades from a shimmery white to a deep burgundy and matte black. What could go wrong? And I really like the way they name each colors too. They're like confidence booster haha.

And while I was editing this picture I realized that I swatched Stand-offish twice haha! As a whole, the quality of these shadows are amazing! They are buttery soft, and super pigmented. Though I would advice to be careful when depositing the darker shades because of the fact that it is very pigmented. A touch on the colors with brush and a lot of tapping of the excess would do the trick.

There are 4 mattes, 4 shimmery and 4 glittery shades in here. Snobby is a great highlighting color for deeper skin tones and Sassy is great for highlighting the inner eye corners.

My favourite shade would be 'Sexy' which is the reason I got this palette for. I've been looking for a good deep burgundy red eyeshadow and this one is perfect to get that smokey eyes look yet still is very wearable on daily basis. I like to pair Sexy on the crease and Selfish on all over the lid if I want a darker look on my eyes.

But I found myself to really maximise the use out of all the colors in this palette. There is not even one shade that I've never use or do not like. I love em all! It is my first eyeshadow palette from The Balm and I am already in love! Would love to get more when I have the chance.

Moving on, Hot Mama Blush has been raved about being a dupe for NARS's Orgasm. I do not own the Orgasm so I can't compare the two. So my opinion would be solely on this product itself and the performance.

Sexy packaging! My bae gave me a weird look when I pulled this out of my makeup pouch hahaha! I like to take this with me for reapplication again, because of the packaging. Very compact and I do not have to worry about it being shattered or crack if it falls. Cardboard packaging ftw! This one as you can see priced at RM75 at SaSa, and RM93 at Sephora online. Man, the difference.

Hot Mama is beautiful coral pink blush with very fine golden shimmers in it. I love using this on days where I don't really want to put on a full face of makeup that includes highlighters and all, when I want the natural look but still look healthily glowing.

I am not sure about people with lighter skin tones, but for me honestly the pigment isn't really showing on my skin unless I build it up. The shimmers tends to deposit first on my cheeks, then I have to swirl my brush in the product couple more times till the coral color actually show up on my cheeks. But again, it could be due to my medium skin tone.

Staying power is fairly good. It lasts about half of the day. I don't mind reapplying, but I'd rely on my Tarte Amazonian clay blushers if I want my blush to last all day long. That shiz is good! Do I think this one is worth it? Yes, if you want a dupe for NARS's orgasm, just look at the pictures online. Some even said that this one is way more pigmented than the NARS's.
